Did the tv special hurt the overall legacy of the series? What would you change? Would you even want this special to exist???

Yes. Even though it wasn't that well made and it left to many questions unanswered it was still fun to see those two characters again and catch up with their lives.

First of all I would try to include some of the other characters from TMTMS and Rhoda even if it was only cameo appearances. Also the storyline should have been more closely tied to the original two series. As it was it was like this was a totally separate story and everything that happened on TMTMS and Rhoda never existed.

It was a noble attempt but as Marv said, they should have done a full blown MTMS reunion (minus Knight, unfortunately). The Mary/Rhoda thing just made me wonder what happened to Lou, Murray, etc, and ended up being WAY more about the daughters than I wanted it to. I mean, honestly, when they do these things, why can't they understand that no one really cares about these lame "next generation" characters?

I think TIIC understand but don't care what the fans want. (See: Brian Frons, daytime TV). :mad:

I would've liked there to have been one, but have it differently than it was. I didn't like that it didn't even mention Lou, or anybody else from the newsroom. Or even Phyllis. But I liked having Mary & Rhoda back together, still the best of friends. :)
