View Full Version : Nancy In The "star"
Adoptee 01-14-2002, 09:40 PM just to paraphrase:
it has a little pix of nancy and it just says about her drinking in real life....it goes on to talk about the story of her being a child model and drinking the orange juice with vodka and how she went down the runway looped....
at the end, it just says that because of nancy, the division is the #1 show on lifetime.....
Thanks for letting us know!

prob. not "Star" because isnt one of those nation enquires with all thoses storys that are fake and streaching the truth, and the article that Adele said sounds like a reasonble one that would not be found in the "Star" magazine that i am think of, o well, i could totally be off base
ISmellFine 01-14-2002, 11:20 PM Wait...Star...isn't that like a tabloid...or something??

Yeah, the only 'Star' I know of is a tabloid. According to them President Clinton is going out with a three breasted intern, bat boys on the loose, and a women gave birth to a full grown man. Gimme a break. They usually just make up bull sometimes they do have real things in them, but obviously the real stuff don't make the front page, and they usually elaborate on that aswell.

LOL, I saw that today. I went to the grocery store and I thought I was going to DIE! I was laffing so hard...and getting all these weird looks for people............. *shrugs*
jinsthewoman 01-15-2002, 12:13 AM Someone posted this when new reviews of the division came out, this is probably where the star got there info from.... you tell a funny story and they turn it into trash :)
The New York-born actress was a child model and actress before the series. McKeon doesn't rush her answer to any question. Her attitude is polite but reflects caution -- perhaps a result of those days when teen magazines fed on every aspect of her life. But she warms up to tell a cute tale about when she was a tot appearing in a fashion show. She was dressed as a cowgirl complete with cap guns to fire. Waiting her turn to go on she was thirsty, so she grabbed a drink that looked like juice."It was a screwdriver and a few sips later I was looped and stumbling down the aisle with my cap guns. I think I created a festive opening to the show," she says, laughing.

AllIWantIsYourClutch 01-15-2002, 08:23 PM Here is the article:
NANCY MCKEON, who's back on TV playing an alcoholic cop on the Lifetime series The Division, reveals she had her first real-life brush with booze at just 2 years old!
McKeon who charmed audiences from 1979 to 1988 as tomboy Jo Polniaczek on The Facts of Life, was backstage at a fashion show as a tot when she accidentally grabbed a drink that looked like orange juice.
"It was a screwdriver and a few sips later, I was looped and stumbling down the aisle dressed in cowgirl gear and holding my cap guns," says McKeon, 35. "I think I creadted a festive opening to the fashion show though."
These days McKeon is stil carrying a gun, but playing Inspector Jinny Exstead, a cop who has just come out of rehab. Thanks to McKeon's compelling performance, the series about female cops is one of the highest rated shows on cable.
"My character is kind of getting reaquainted with the world without the haze," says McKeon. "It's a big difference for her- doing things without the aid of substances."
