I think it would be nice if there was an "Unsolved Mysteries: Revisited" kind of thing where they re-interview people from the original cases to update us on how the cases are progressing and to see where the people involved are today. What do you think?

What you are describing is what the new series SHOULD have been: more of a continuation of the original series, as opposed to the polished turd that we have been presented with.

something like that, but a continuation wouldn't tell us how the people involved are today, only updates about the cases (which is also nice). I do agree, however, that the original series should've continued. I wonder why the original episodes were discontinued? I don't think it would've hurt to have those running essentially forever if you ask me.

Well, I suppose that neither Lifetime nor anyone else in the television industry was prepared for a post-Stack UM. This is not to say that they didn't want UM to continue without Robert Stack; it's just that the idea seemed unthinkable, at least at the time of Stack's death in 2003.

Instead of "rebooting" UM with Farina, what they should have done was reair the original reenactments, with NEW interviews with all the principals from the original broadcast. That would have been interesting to watch. And if new interviews were unavailable, they could have used the old footage.

The only portion worth watching on the new UM are the UPDATES that were never updated when Stack was still alive.

excellent idea. I think they should bring a bunch of people into a studio and interview each of them and bring up their old segment.

I would love them to do a followup on that psychic... was it Sylvia Brown? And all the cases she was totally wrong about.

I wonder what ever became of the golden lady, I think she went by "Katie" in the segment.

They did that, on the 3rd anniversary special. They had Jenny Pratt and her parents on there. Though it was difficult to really tell how Jenny was progressing as her mother rudely cut her off at every turn. I also know Pat Mealbach was on there.

Sylvia Brown was never on UM. She frequently gets associated with UM on a segment about a haunted Toys R US in California, but that was actually That's Incredible and not UM.

I could've sworn she was on one of the ghost segments--something about a seaside hotel or restaurant and a ghost that walks the beach at night.

Oh, shut my mouth, it looks like she was indeed in the Moss Beach Distillery segment. I totally didn't remember that at all. Meg is right as usual. :)

Well actually I was starting to think I'd just imagined it. :) I think that's the only time she's ever been on the show though--which is just alright with me.

A few months back I saw Sylvia Brown with Montel Williams  in some infomercial for a juicer. Just hearing her go on and on in that whiskey-and-cigs rasp about the health benefits of juicing was really unintentionally hilarious.

He should be Michael Jordan by now.
