View Full Version : Anyone else a fan of this show?
Schmoopie 10-15-2011, 09:00 PM I thought this was going to be just another silly Disney show at first but it's actually pretty hilarious, IMO. China Ann McClain is a great actress and a really good singer as well. She's really talented and the rest of the cast seems to work well with her. The only thing that annoys me is that they keep showing the same episodes over and over again. But then again, it hasn't been on very long.
However, I think it will be on for a while because it's a really cute series. Not many shows make me laugh as much as ANT Farm.
PrettyinPink55 04-19-2012, 01:34 AM I like it too. I was quite surprised that I liked it. I rolled my eyes whenever I saw the previews for it, but once I gave it a chance, it's actually pretty funny. I like Olive.

I was the same way, but I really like it too. Olive is hilarious! And Gibson is hilarious! That's a great show! Glad someone else noticed!
Astaldo711 05-09-2012, 11:36 AM My 12 year old daughter watches it and I watch with her and I think it's a cute show.

It really is! It's sad that the Disney shows are more entertaining than most of the prime time shows now!
kellygoo72 05-11-2012, 05:47 PM I like it too.... Truth be told, when I have nothing else to watch & I want to just veg out... I will put on Disney & I am in my 30's.... So funny to me that these kids have such GREAT comedic timing.
The cast is cute. Im sure they will go far.
Jericho-79 05-17-2012, 07:38 PM I think it's sad that Disney hasn't had another hit show since Hannah Montana, Sonny With A Chance, and Wizards Of Weaverly Place ended.

I actually like their current programming. :)

Same here and I like this show.
PrettyinPink55 10-26-2012, 11:12 PM Same here and I like this show.
My favorite of all the current sitcoms on Disney would have to be Good Luck Charlie.
I think the writing on some of these shows is just brilliant!!!
For example on A.N.T. Farm:
"I'm Lexi and I know it!"
"Born This Day"
GENIUS!!!
Topanga96 10-26-2012, 11:17 PM I have watched this show a few times and it was pretty good. The girl China has an incredible singing voice.
PrettyinPink55 10-26-2012, 11:22 PM They make it so that all of the Disney Channel actresses are multi-talented triple threats. If you notice, each of them not only acts, but also sings and/or dances.
Schmoopie 11-15-2012, 05:26 AM "Good Luck Charlie" has been pretty popular. I mean it must be for the producers to have decided to add another baby to the Duncan family!

To me, Good Luck Charlie is Disney's current finest followed by JESSIE.
comedyfreak 03-28-2013, 05:57 AM Good Luck Charlie has been renewed another season. Jessie is a really good show great writing and cast.
MacLeaper 03-28-2013, 04:22 PM I wouldn't say it's my favorite of the Disney sitcoms on now, but I like it pretty well. (I think "Austin & Ally" would be one of my main favorites right now because of the music. And it's just funny anyway.)
But "A.N.T. Farm" is good too- kind of a junior high version of "Head of the Class", as far as premise goes- but on a much goofier level.
MacLeaper 10-31-2013, 05:43 PM I didn't really care that much for the show to begin with, but I'm really not totally liking all the changes in the current season. I'm starting to wonder if this show may not be wrapping up soon, as other Disney sitcoms are ending their runs too.
comedyfreak 11-02-2013, 05:41 AM Why the changes to the current season? I liked the principal she is hilarious.
MacLeaper 11-04-2013, 12:00 PM Yeah- I have no idea. I agree- the principal was pretty funny.

I like this show. It's fun and it has a lot of great little jokes. Some of the jokes are obvious, but it's still fun to hear them!

I wish I could agree with that, because it tries to present itself that way, but honestly I can't. One of the things that always bothers me about the show was the bad habit of making the guys complete idiots. Fletcher is supposed to be an artistic prodigy, but he can't tell a chicken from a duck? Gibson is supposed to be their mentor, but in one episode he can't count shoulders or necks, or some dumb thing? Seriously WTF is up with that?
China Anne McClain and Sierra McCormick are incredibly talented, though. That can't be denied. And the show does have it's moments.

Definitely agree there.
But yes- I also get quite tired of presenting all the males as idiots. (Not only on this show- it's kind of a trend on a lot of shows.) To be fair, Paisley is a female on the show that's also presented as a blithering idiot. But it seems there are way too many portrayals of males as stupid or clueless and I get tired of that. (I also get tired of females being presented that way too, for that matter.)

I understand that the show is completely different in concept from when it started but from what I know the original series started out as 11-year-olds being in high school due to possessing a particular talent.
Um...yeah...you don't automatically get to skip a few grades because you're a good singer or you have a super memory. Wouldn't you still have to be academically sound in all the basic high school subjects in order to actually apply for the high school upgrade?
I could see why they ended up writing themselves into a corner later in the show.
comedyfreak 03-18-2014, 01:18 PM The show is ending its run.
Dude111 03-22-2014, 01:11 AM I thought this was going to be just another silly Disney show at first but it's actually pretty hilariousYa I have watched it a little from time to time........ Not bad I guess but I think that show with Zack and Cody is better!
I hope that I don't get in trouble when I say this, but I'm really transfixed in episodes that involve Allie DeBerry (Paisley) dancing:

Dude111 03-15-2015, 08:03 AM Dont be silly, why would anyone care bud??
I have seen those MAKEAGIF things before......... It would be neat if they had sound also!!
Schmoopie 03-15-2015, 06:59 PM I hated what they did to this show when they had them move from their school to that "specialized" school. I couldn't watch it anymore after that and although it surprised me a little that they were canceling it after three seasons, I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. They should have kept it the way it was. It was much funnier and wasn't the whole point of the show that it was about a group of kids who were so gifted that they were sent to high school and had to "mingle" with kids who were older? I think Disney did a huge disservice to fans of this show when they changed the whole format. I watched the last episode and even it wasn't very good. Such a shame b/c it was a good show at one point. I looked foreword to watching it.

TOTALLY STUPID AND HORRID!!
Its no surprise they could leave GOOD alone!! (Poor kids probably didnt like it themselves which is why they are ending it)
