Fox has finalized plans for the first of four America's Most Wanted specials to air over the coming season.

The two-hour 50 Fugitives, 50 States is set for Saturday, Oct. 29, as a part of the arrangement made when the network essentially cancelled the 23-year-old unscripted series in May.

News of the first airing comes weeks after Lifetime announced it would pick up where Fox let off, which like the cable channel has a female-skewing viewership.

50 Fugitives will first take host John Walsh to Montana in hopes of finding a former militia leader who eluded law enforcement after a dramatic car chase and shootout.

The regular series, which has been partially credited in the capture of more than 1,100 fugitives in the U.S. and 30 countries, will resume airing original episodes on Lifetime later in the year.

Good, that was one show that was really worthwhile.

Fox is planning to air another special on December 17. And of course, AMW is coming back as a regular series on Lifetime. I read that Lifetime will begin airing the show in December, but so far there is no official word on an airdate.
