Hey, I was just wondering. Has anybody ever tried to digitalize I Love Lucy with the use of a DVD Ripper. If you have the DVD's.

I'm currently converting the episodes from the first season where they'll play on digital devices such as an Ipad or Iphone for example. I'm currently up to the episode "The Young Fans" and it's going pretty good. I'm ripping the DVD's and converting them over to Itunes. I've looked on the Itunes store a few times and found it surprising they're not selling the DVD's on the Itunes store as popular as ILL is.

Has anybody ever tried this? Please tell me your ideas on this. Thanks.

I put a few episodes of I Love Lucy, The Dick Van Dke Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show and All in the Family on my Ipod last year so I'd have something to watch while at jury duty.

I used DVD Shrink to extract each episode individually. An added bonus of DVD Shrink is it lets you edit start end end times so I could strip out the opening theme and closing credits. I then used Handbrake to convert the files to a format that the Ipod can play. It was kind of time consuming but all the software is free.

What method are you using?

I'm hoping that you included the episode of DVD when Rob is on jury duty!

I'm using 123 copy DVD for ripping the episodes. I leave the opening and closing themes in.
