Ryan O'Neal has filed a counter-suit against the University of Texas over an Andy Warhol napkin, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Farrah Fawcett's alma mater, the University of Texas, filed a lawsuit against O'Neal in August, demanding that he turn over an Andy Warhol painting of the late actress he was in possession of, that the Charlie's Angels star had bequeathed to the school after she died.

Within his lawsuit, O'Neal admits to having had a volatile relationship with Fawcett. "Ms. Fawcett and O'Neal had an extremely close, but sometimes tumultuous relationship," the court documents state. "During the last 30 years of Ms. Fawcett's life they lived together on and off again. They were never married.

"On those several occasions when Ms. Fawcett and O'Neal stopped living together, Ms. Fawcett would remove certain items from O'Neal's home, including artwork and collectibles created by Warhol and others. O'Neal did not seek immediate physical return of those items, however, because he knew that they would eventually reconcile and once again share the same home."

The lawsuit asserts that Ryan O'Neal is being bullied and harassed by the teaching institution. "The University of Texas is a multi-billion dollar entity. It continues to use its vast publicly funded financial resources to bully and harass Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated actor Ryan O'Neal into giving up possession of artwork he received from his friend of many years, the late Andy Warhol," the papers allege. "The University filed the underlying lawsuit in this Action to pressure O'Neal into surrendering his prized Warhol portrait of Farrah Fawcett, apparently believing it to be worth many millions of dollars."

After Fawcett died of cancer in 2009, artwork that she owned was taken into possession by the university. However, O'Neal alleges that some of the items that the school has in their possession now are his, because he contends that it belonged to the former couple, and was not solely Farrah's.

"Among the items removed from Ms. Fawcett's home and received by the University, however, was artwork that did not exclusively belong to Ms. Fawcett, but was jointly owned by O'Neal and Ms. Fawcett. This includes the Warhol 'Napkin' which was owned jointly by Ms. Fawcett and O'Neal. In fact, the Warhol napkin is inscribed by Warhol "To Farrah F. and Ryan O," the lawsuit states.

O'Neal is seeking unspecified damages, and for costs associated to the lawsuit.

I have to wonder if Farrah had ever wished she'd just stayed with Lee Majors. I know she loved Ryan but that guy is TOXIC!!!!

Ryan O'Neal is acting like a widower, when the truth is that he and Farrah hadn't been together as a couple for a long time. He's in it for the $$. He reminds me of Cher, after Sonny died. She acted like his widow, and he was married to someone else. For two decades, Cher would knock Sonny on talk shows, in her book, you name it. He died and suddenly, they were just meant to be together. She even had to speak at his funeral. Nothing but phonies.

On Farrah's AmIAnnoying page (http://amiannoying.com/%28S%28inuscejig51ag4nnwhn54enm%29%29/view.aspx?ID=121), I'm surprised this isn't mentioned as a reason why she might be annoying:

"She was engaged to troubled actor Ryan O'Neal."

Because, really, what did Farrah see in him that she didn't see in Lee Majors?

There's no explaining romantic attraction. I think she and Ryan were more alike that she and Lee were. Something tells me that after he got over the sadness of rejection and the ending of his marriage, Lee was glad she left. That's just my sense of the situation.

Or taste!! (Trust me, I've had my "what was I thinking?" moments when it's come to men myself, so I'm not passing judgment on Farrah.)

Did Farrah bequeath anything to Ryan in her will. From what I understand she willed everything to their son. If she intented for O'Neil to have this painting or anything else, I would think she would have stated so. That he wasn't included in the will says it all.

You're right - Ryan was cut out of Farrah's will entirely, as was Alana Stewart. I believe Redmond is the sole heir of her estate, though I do believe she left some money for her elderly father.

If she willed it to the Uni, the Uni should have it. This kind of thing is so petty. Ryan is not getting any younger. You'd think he'd be embarrassed that he'll die soon and this is the kind of thing people will remember about him. You can't take it with you, folks.

@ mysterydaisy: Apparently, he thinks he can. I never felt right about him.

I would think by now, he would have let go of all that. But maybe not since that reality show with Tatum went nowhere! He needs to do something for attention!

What I'd really like to know is what could have possessed him to act like such a self-absorbed pain in the @$$ that cares only about himself, despite any freakin' B.S. that he may say to the contrary. Wasn't there once upon a time when he was loved by so many?
