So, I've recently become interested again in Home Improvement since watching the TBS airings in the morning. I was curious if anyone knows what is up with the weird inconsistency of the opening they have been showing for the 8th season. First it was a shortened version with the cast names..than they were showing the same opening but with no cast names and instead they were at the beginning of the episode at the bottom...now this morning they showed the full original opening for the 8th season. Just wondering if anyone knows why all the back and forth?

with tbs it's all about saving 2-3 seconds so they can squeeze in more promo time. so anything they can do to save that time, they'll do. they used to air those animated fillers that were with the network showings, between commercials years ago. but they've become lost; they're not even on the DVD sets. so bottom line, if they happen to have 10 seconds to spare, i guess they'll show the original opener.

Season 7 had the shortened opening credits in the syndicated episode of Home Improvement.
