Jerry Springer: Criticism of My Show Is 'Class Warfare' (VIDEO)

"The Jerry Springer Show" recently celebrated its twentieth anniversary, and to commemorate the occasion, Jerry stopped by "The Talk" to defend the show from its critics.
According to Springer, the reason people dismiss his program as trash isn't due to the sibling love-triangles, one-legged strippers or baby mama drama, but is rather an example of class warfare in action.
"I don't think in any way that the news is morally superior to our show and the reason is that the people who criticize my show, primarily, do so because we kind of look down on people who aren't very wealthy, very educated... people that are poor.
If you look at these "classy" shows, like the 'Late Night' shows, they have all of these celebrities on that are talking about the exact same things. Like who slept with who, what scandals they are involved in and everything else. Everyone can't get enough of it and that is ok.
As soon as it's a poor person who is not famous and not rich, when they have those kind of problems they are called "trash". It's such a class warfare thing against these people and, truthfully, most of the people on my show, and this is the God's honest truth, I kind of like. I mean I don't appreciate what they do, but they're pretty nice people."
