Marvo301 10-10-2011, 01:17 PM The Helpers had two children. A daughter named Ellen and a son named Freddie. PJudith 12-08-2011, 04:25 PM In one episode they had three children. It was the show when Millie was in a Cleopatra skit and Jerry did not want her kissing "hanglip Harry." They decided to have the kindergarten teacher play Cleopatra. Millie didn't think it was appropriate and Jerry said that it was more appropriate than a mother of three playing the part. There were mistakes like that in the writing sometimes. Other times their daughter was referred to as Patty. Hey maybe they did have Ellen and Patty. All the kids seemed like an afterthought on the show anyway. It was really about the adults BoobTube Baby 09-20-2012, 10:07 AM I agree that in writing there are 3 Helper children: Patty, Ellen and Freddie. The real confusion, I think, arises from the fact that Ann Morgan Gilbert is pregnant, and dressed in maternity clothes, twice while Richie is little. Nothing comes from either of these pregnancies, as far as the writing goes. There are no "Millie's Baby," episodes. As best I recall, these babies just aren't mentioned. DVDfan 07-21-2020, 04:51 PM In the episode, "Don't Trip Over That Mountain," S2 Ep22, we hear the name "Patty" as Millie phones home, from Laura & Rob's house, and talks to Patty. She talks with Patty about Freddie's bath then checks in with Patty to ascertain whether Jerry has phoned (from the place where he and Rob are spending the weekend skiing). We've all heard the name of Millie & Jerry's son, Freddie [spelling? Freddy?] numerous times. This is because Rob & Laura's son, Ritchie [yes, they spelled it with a "T"], plays with Freddie. We usually hear his name referenced without seeing him, but in the episode where Rob casts Ritchie & Freddie in a TV commercial, there's an actor playing the part of Freddie. And, we hear the name Ellen at least twice that I know of. So that adds up to three children for Millie & Jerry. 😃 Bronx Sylvia 07-27-2020, 09:10 PM Ritchie had a teenage babysitter named Patty. What was odder was that Allan Melville played an army buddy Sam, and also an army buddy Rob didn’t remember, Harrison B Harding (and according to Wikipedia, 4 other characters, one of those listed was played by Marty Ingalls). CosmicCharlie 09-27-2020, 06:21 PM in 50's sitcoms it was normal to have 1 character actor play many different roles throughout the series ... like Jack Benny ... Jackie Gleason ... even Leave it to Beaver. But when the 60's came this was faded out to some degree |
