View Full Version : Clint Eastwood to Return to Acting Again!
Brian Damage 10-08-2011, 10:17 AM Oscar-winning director Clint Eastwood is returning to his roots, according to Entertainment Weekly. Look out, Brad Pitt – the 81-year-old actor is reportedly in talks to star in an upcoming baseball drama.
We can thank Beyonce’s unborn baby for Clint’s potential new role. According to Deadline, her pregnancy forced Eastwood to postpone directing his remake of “A Star is Born," in which Beyonce's been cast.
With some extra time on his hands, sources tell EW that the Hollywood legend is circling the movie “Trouble With the Curve," in which he'd play an old baseball scout who convinces his daughter to go on the road with him.
Eastwood last graced the silver screen in 2008 hit “Gran Torino,” which earned $148 million at the box office.
“When I did ‘Million Dollar Baby’ I thought, ‘Well, this would be a nice one to quit on,’ and then ‘Gran Torino’ came along,” Eastwood told EW in August. “They’re not writing a lot of really great material for guys my age. In lieu of that, I would just prefer to stay behind the camera. But if a great role came along, yeah, I would do that. But actors are like boxers — they stay too long sometimes.”
The Eastwood-directed “J. Edgar,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio, hits theaters on November 9.

Mr. Television 10-08-2011, 10:25 AM That's great news. :woohoo: Gran Torino would have been a great movie for him to bow out in but I'm greedy  I want to see him on the silver screen.

I am SHOCKED by your response Sonny! ;)
Seriously, it is always great to see Clint back on screen and if he picks a movie to act in, you know it has got to be good!

Sandra Bullock for Clint Eastwood's 'Trouble with the Curve' daughter?
Published Tuesday, Oct 11 2011, 4:28pm EDT | By Tara Fowler
Sandra Bullock is reportedly in talks to star in Trouble with the Curve.
Last week, Clint Eastwood was rumored to have signed on for the lead role in the baseball drama. Should Eastwood take the part, it will be the first time he has been seen on screen since playing Walt Kowalski in 2008's Gran Torino.
Bullock is now said to be in negotiations to play Eastwood's daughter in the upcoming film, according to Twitch.
Trouble with the Curve centres on a veteran baseball scout (Eastwood) who journeys to Atlanta with his daughter to see a talented player.
In 2008, Eastwood claimed that his role in Gran Torino would be his last, insisting at the time that he planned to move permanently behind the camera.
The actor previously admitted that he has struggled to give up acting, despite vowing to retire several years ago.
Retro4Life 10-14-2011, 08:57 PM I liked Gran Torino but I'd like to see Clint go out with a bit more upbeat ending. And honestly, I'd like for him to never "go out" at all, if possible! He's one of the few greats we have left, and we need him to stick around!
mystery_daisy 10-14-2011, 10:57 PM I don't know anything about the movie, but i admire someone being 81 and having that kind of flexibility to go act in a move when he's on break from producing/directing.
isiahthomas 10-15-2011, 03:38 PM I'm a Clint fan but i don't wanna see him in anymore movies because he's too old. I love his action movies but these last few years, he's directed some wack movies. I liked Gran Torino but i was disappointed he got killed because i wanted him to kill those asian gangbangers. If he would've been younger in that movie, he would've killed those punks hahahahahahahahahaha. If he's gonna continue to act, he should do a few action movies and retire. I love his Sudden Impact, The Rookie, The Dead Pool, Dirty Harry movies. His western movies are good too. Didn't he do a movie called The Enforcer? I don't remember seeing it. I'm gonna have to check that out next time i go to the video store. I don't remember much about Dirty Harry either. I'm gonna have to see that again.
Zebra 3 10-15-2011, 05:02 PM Didn't he do a movie called The Enforcer? It's the second Dirty Harry sequel, the first sequel is Magnum Force.
Brad Russ 10-19-2011, 09:28 AM Very good news. Loved him in Gran Torino. Honestly, love him in everything. What i love so much about Clint is how diverse he is. Started off mostly doing Westerns, and i doubt that many thought he would be able to transition as well as he has into various other genres. Such an effortless, and seemless transition, which very few, if any have done so well. Romance movies, (Bridges of Madison County), sports dramas, (Million Dollar Baby), action dramas, (Gran Torino) just to name a few. i'll bet he's even funny, and would have us all in stitches in any comedy. Hey, very few thought Deniro could, and we know what happened there. Not to mention the fact that Clint is also a directing genius. He may even do that better than he acts, if that's even possible. Not an actor or director out there who i respect more, not one!!
