Does Buddy's wife Pickles ever make an appearance?

Yes, Fiona "Pickles" Sorrell was played by Joan Shawlee & Barbara Perry.

If I'm remembering right, Pickles made about 2 appearances in season one (played by Barbara Perry) and then about 4 appearances in season two (played by Joan Shawlee). Unfortunately, after season two, we never get to see Pickles again. =( There's some speculation over that, but I think it was because the show already had a lot of main characters and could save money by getting rid of the less necessary ones (?). You'd think that a show as popular as Dick Van Dyke would have enough money to pay an actress a couple times a year, but oh well. :confused:

Yeah, I thought it was surprising that even in Buddy's bar mitzvah episode in the final season we didn't even get to see Pickles.

Pickles Sorrell made her last bodily (but uncredited) appearance in the late Season 2 episode "A Surprise Surprise Is a Surprise". She keeps her back to the camera as she sits next to Buddy at the dining room table. I do not know if Joan Shawlee made this appearance, but the woman, like both credited actresses, is noticeably taller than Morey Amsterdam and looks more like Joan Shawlee than Barbara Perry. In Season 5's "Buddy Sorrell, Man and Boy", Buddy refers to Pickles as being present at his Bar-Mitzvah ("beloved wife"), but she is never seen on camera.
