I am doing part of my CATM/Freddie website I was doing on ANGELFIRE. The rest of the site is on TRIPOD & GEOCITIES... I went to check on the site & they had removed it saying I had violated their TOS. I had no porn or anything like that on the site. I don't think I hotlinked any of my images anywhere either. I looked on their site & if said this which I think maybe why they canned my site:
Invalid File Extentions - All files located in your member directory must have a valid file extension. Files that do not have a file extension will cause the account to be terminated. Examples: Invalid: "my_dog" Valid: "my_dog.html"
Now that I think about it I think I had a page or 2 on there that had an invalid file extension & I had meant to change it & forgot my mistake. It was just where I forgot to put .html at the end of the file. They could've at least warned me & I would have gladly fixed the problem. They are so mean to do this after all the hard work I have done. & I never stored on floppy or my hard drive copies of any of my pages off of my site either. Sigh... I am so upset at ANGELFIRE that words cannot explain the upset I feel right now LOL! I could never attempt to re-create all that myself. Thank God I did not have the whole site on Angelfire, just a section on the Faith of Freddie & I'd copied the excerpts of the FP Story that someone had posted on here & put them along with pics of Freddie on there...
Anyway does anyone know how I can get it back from them or is the stuff I put on there lost forever? If it is then big growl... Also where would I write to to complain about this? I searched on the site & couldn't find the right place to complain to. Sigh...
I just learned the hard way ALWAYS PUT .HTML AT THE END OF THE NAME OF ALL THE PAGES ON YOUR WEBSITE... LOL!
The site will now be taking years longer to finish due to this big setback LOL!
