Ty Pennington Joins "The Revolution"

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" host Ty Pennington has joined the panel for ABC's new lifestyle series "The Revolution". The series will take the timeslot previously occupied by "One Life to Live" in Jaunary 2012.
"Ty's passionate and deep connection to everyone he helps makes him the perfect choice to join 'The Revolution,'" ABC daytime president Brian Frons said in a statement.
"The energy he brings with him is an excellent complement to our previously named hosts, Tim Gunn and Harley Pasternak. Our goal is to include inspiring and informative motivators as we build 'The Revolution' team and continue to evolve our lineup with the type of lifestyle programming that daytime viewers are interested in seeing."
The series features "Project Runway" staple Tim Gunn, fitness guru Harley Pasternak and Pennington helping people change their lives in every aspect, including family, physical, fashion, finance and more.
During the week's five episodes, one woman's five-month weight loss journey will be told with the final transformation airing on Friday.
The network says more hosts will be revealed soon.
When the show was announced in April 2011, "American Idol" contestant Kimberly Locke was part of the cast. However, she was not mentioned when ABC announced the Ty Pennington news.
ABC did not immediately return request for comment.
