Hardly a day goes by without at least one of the Thread's most recent post reading "For Sale......"
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
Whoever is in charge of this site need to CRACK DOWN ON SPAMMERS!!
Kicking them off is no good as they just give themselves another name and return with the same Message. I strongly suggest using Captya (This is supposed to stop computer-generated posts), and raising the minimum number of posts before you can post a web or e-mail link to AT LEAST 50 (I'd Suggest 100)
We've gone to great lengths to prevent spammers. We already use the captcha system. We also have another question that people have to answer to register. This prevents the bots from registering, but it doesn't prevent the human spammers. We ban spammers ip addresses. It's never enough.
You fail to realize that the "For Sale" spam you've been reporting the last few days have NO LINKS in them! 5 posts is plenty to post links. Raising it even higher is not going to prevent the spam threads that have no links in them. We aren't going to make people jump through hoops to post.
Sorry to say, but the spam is just part of having a large forum. It's just best to ignore it and report it and not let it frustrate you so much. It gets deleted as soon as possible, often before it even gets reported. The spammers aren't winning if it gets deleted quickly. No harm, no foul. One spam thread a day is nothing compared to amount that was posted in the prior months. It's been greatly reduced with the steps we've taken.

The person in charge of this site has a name, and it's TJ. Many of us know him well. He runs a fantastic site, and deserves to be treated with respect. So I'd drop your, 'ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!' attitude. Stop barking out orders, and you might want to consider apologizing. Your behavior was very rude.

Well EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE Me if I overreacted!
I just get a little annoyed at these SPAM Messages that seem to appear every day. Judging from how they are layed out, they seem to be from the same person. (And if there is a minimum of five posts, why does it seem when I look up the name of the poster, they have only posted two or three times (and those being SPAM on other threads!)). Someone's skirting the rules, and I find that disturbing. If I offended anyone I sincerily Apologise.

We all get frustrated at all these SPAM messages but it doesn't do any good to take it out on TJ. He's doing the best he can. Also Excuuuuuuuuuuuuse me was out of line. Janice is an administrator.

I agree. It's not necessary to take it out on anyone and the excuse me with all the u's was uncalled for. That was rude.
