Stanley Kubrick considered Robin Williams and Harrison Ford for the lead role, but author Stephen King gave them both the thumbs-down, King told Australian radio in 2007. According to one Hollywood legend, however, Kubrick watched an episode of Mork & Mindy and deemed Williams too psychotic.
