Charlie Sheen on "Two and a Half Men" Premiere: "Bizarre," But I'm "Really Impressed"

Continuing on his image rehabilitation campaign, Charlie Sheen offered up hearty congratulations to the cast of "Two and a Half Men" for their record-breaking premiere, which drew nearly 28 million viewers, among them Sheen himself.

"It was a little bizarre watching it, but yeah, for the most part I was really impressed with what they did," Sheen told Access Hollywood.

In the season premiere, those remaining held Charlie Harper's funeral. He died when he "fell" in front of a high-speed train in Paris (conveniently, the day after his fiancée found out he had cheated) and his body subsequently exploded "like a balloon full of meat."

"That's got to be the highest attended funeral of all time," Sheen said.

"And it's interesting because I'm doing a film with Roman Coppola and there is a funeral scene in that. So I'm a guy that's gonna have to survive my own funeral twice in the same year! That's how I roll, right? No, it's exciting...you know, it's fun, it's fake."

"Two and a Half Men's" Season 9 premiere notched a 10.3 rating among 18-to-49-year-olds — the highest ever for the program, and more than double that of Season 8's first episode.

On cable, Sheen set record ratings of his own: 6.4 million viewers watched Comedy Central's roast of Sheen, making it the highest-rated roast in the history of the franchise.

"It was a big night for everybody on Monday night — for 'Two and a Half', for us, for me," Sheen said. "I think everybody won. I thought the show was really good. I thought Ashton was terrific."

Sheen didn't, however, share his thoughts on Ashton Kutcher, who replaced him on the series after he was fired.

"Oh, that's between us. You know I can't reveal everything," he says.

As for former co-star Jon Cryer, whom Sheen called a "troll" this summer:

"Jon is Jon," he says. "He's a freaking genius. I think the show has got a real shot. It felt like a pilot. It felt like a really good pilot."

Of course he's going to say that, he is trying to shop his own show to networks.

I watched the conclusion tonight of the two episode premiere. I didn't like tonight's episode or last week's. I doubt I will continue to watch the show. Just my opinion.
