I know it has been a few years since 'Frasier' has been off the air and it is perfectly natural to get older, but John Mahoney (Martin Crane) looks to be really skinny and sickly looking. I hope all is well with him? I only bring this up because I saw him doing an interview recently on a local news show and even though he was upbeat, he really doesn't look well.

Wow, he really is showing his age. Despite that he does look happy and healthy. He is still acting and is still active. That is the most important thing, just because someone looks a certain way doesn't mean anything. He just look like someone who has worked hard his whole life and is happy to be doing what he is doing. I will definitely keep him in my prayers. :)

I agree as well, and you put that beautifully, Andress! He seems to be healthy and happy and that's all that really matters. Although sometimes it doesn't feel like so much time has passed since Frasier ended, so everyone has aged a lot since then. But since we're talking about aging here... This is a picture of him from "Say Anything" a movie that, ironically, takes place in Seattle and also has Bebe Neuwirth in a small role! BTW, he's AMAZING in that movie!

I think he's just aging. David Hyde Pierce once said, referring to his Niles character:
"There's nothing crueler than syndicated television. I look at the reruns, and I realize we are no longer the same age." -David Hyde Pierce
After I thought about that, I decided he's right... it would be absolutely awful to have a character out there all the time who looks like me but never ages, only to make people think "wow, she got old!" every time they see me now.
I think that's what we see... John Mahoney a certain, fixed age range as Martin Crane, then when we see the actor all these years later, he looks so much older. That first picture of him looks like the beginning of the series because he still has a bit of dark hair on top, so that would make him around 52 or 53 in that picture. Assuming the second picture is from 2011, he'd be 70 or 71 in that picture. That's nearly 20 years older.

David Hyde Pierce looks a lot different now than he did when Frasier first aired in 1993, and sometimes it's hard for me to realize that it's been so long since it's even been on the air. But I still think DHP is adorable! Just sayin....

I saw him on Hot In Cleveland and he's looking pretty good. I think that's just a bad picture of him.
