Last week my Wife and I took a trip to Washington D.C. I was super excited to go to the Smithsonian museum to finally see the Fonz's famous leather jacket. Anyone who knows me knows that Happy Days is my religion. We went to the pop culture section in the museum and looked everywhere for the jacket. Lots of cool things but no jacket. So, we went to the information booth and asked "were is the Fonz's jacket?". The lady at the desk got this very sad look on her face. She informed me that it had been switched out with Farrah Fawcett's bathing suit.

Wow, what's up with that? I'd be disappointed too! Can't even imagine why that would happen! I can see putting Farah Fawcett's swimsuit, but I don't think it's as much of a classic as Fonzie's jacket. I mean, come on... was anyone really looking at her swimsuit in that picture? :cuckoo

it really doesn't make sense that they couldn't keep both in there...

Yeah,
no problem with Farrah's suit being in there, that's certainly a cool thing to see of 70's culture. But really, it looks like a 2' x 6' cubicle with 3 items to represent 70's culture. It's a BIG museum. SURELY they can find someplace to hang Fonzie's leather jacket as well! What, the Smithsonian isn't big enough for a bathing suit AND a leather jacket??? COME ON!!!!

Probably because of the fact that space is limited in the Smithsonian Museum?

it looks like there is plenty of room on that table if they just move things over a bit.

Glad I went to Washington in July 2010 and saw it. Sucks it won't be there if I go back.
