Whether it’s showing up to the Emmys looking like this only five weeks after giving birth, or personifying the 90′s a bit too well, Tina Fey has proven she can do anything. It’s no surprise she went platinum — by selling more than a million copies of Bossypants, not by dyeing her hair to play younger roles — despite her book cover’s off-putting (or fascinating) hairy man-arms. Since its release back in April, the book of funny essays has claimed the top spot on the New York Times best-seller list for five weeks, and has appeared on the list for 23 consecutive weeks in total. On the most recent chart, it appears at number six. Next thing you know, she’ll be EGOTting. Or PEGOTing, in case this whole book writing thing continues to work out for her.
The reasons for the book’s ongoing popularity are pretty easy to see. The memoir-esque sections, which are my favorite parts, give fans a better look at her life before stardom, when she was in her frumpy, sour 20′s. Other sections are shorter and easier to revisit; the touching (yet still funny, as always) chapter, “A Mother’s Prayer for her Child” has no doubt found its way to countless inboxes and refrigerator doors.
Since we won’t be getting our regular Liz Lemon fix until 2012, tide yourself over by reading or re-reading Bossypants.

Wow, am I tired of Tina Fey. A poster over at aintitcoolnews.com actually called her something like "the ultimate example of unwarranted smugness", and that sounds about right.

Any smugness Tina Fey has is TOTALLY warranted....but I also happen to think she is the opposite of smug anyway so.

Yeah not seeing how Tina is smug. She's not afraid to voice her opinion I guess, but she's one of the most down-to-earth celebrities out there.

Is there such a thing as "warranted smugness"? Isn't that like saying someone is "understandably a jerk"?

I guess if being an excellent role model for women is smug, then yeah I suppose she's smug. I guess maybe if being a smart, witty, no-nonsense woman is smug, then she's smug. I suppose a woman having opinions, who is respectful of other opinions, who manages to pull off tasteful humor without being completely dull, who was the first female head writer on SNL and who has created not only one of the most successful movies of the decade, but one of the most respected sitcoms, who makes this face when told how much young women look up to her: http://i849.photobucket.com/albums/ab52/Ashlee5665/Random/tinafeymodesty.gif
...is smug then yeah she's a real smug bitch.
Trust me. As someone who probably knows a little bit more about her compared to someone who isn't a fan, I know how modest she is and how convinced she is that her fame won't last. And enough of my opinion. Let Tina Fey do the rest of the talking.
"Huzzah for the Truth Teller! Women in this country have been over celebrated for too long. Just last night there was a story on my local news about a “missing girl,” and they must have dedicated seven or eight minutes to “where she was last seen” and “how she might have been abducted by a close family friend,” and I thought, “What is this, the News for Chicks?” Then there was some story about Hillary Clinton flying to some country because she’s secretary of state. Why do we keep talking about these dumdums? We are a society that constantly celebrates no one but women and it must stop! I want to hear what the men of the world have been up to. What fun new guns have they invented? What are they raping these days? What’s Michael Bay’s next film going to be? When I first set out to ruin SNL, I didn’t think anyone would notice, but I persevered because—like you trying to do a nine-piece jigsaw puzzle—it was a labor of love. I’m not one to toot my own horn, but I feel safe with you, so I’ll say it. Everything you ever hated on SNL was by me, and anything you ever liked was by someone else who did it against my will."
