That's not a diss. There's only so many formulas. My friend and I even decided that it's like a Three's Company/30 Rock hybrid, perhaps (which, in my eyes, spells gold).

I don't want to judge this just yet. I really enjoyed the pilot and will tune in next week. There was definitely something a bit awkward about it, but I guess that comes with all pilots. It definitely has a lot of potential, at least, but I think its biggest downfall is putting wayyy too much emphasis on Jess' "awkwardness." Tone it down and characterize the rest of the cast a bit more, and I think the show could do well.

And that being said, and because I'm a nerd:
Jess = Jack
Schmidt = Larry
Nick = Janet
Coach =...er...well, he's being replaced after episode two so I don't want to try to care, but it'd be interesting to see a Chrissy type replace him.
