Archie doesn't realize that Katherine and her family are Puerto Ricans: intelligent, well-educated, successful Puerto Ricans. Desperately trying to be friendly, Archie throws out one insult after another and is bewildered when they are offended.

I got the impression that the plot was designed to let the writers tell a bunch of Puerto Rican jokes. Not too funny and not much drama.

It was kinda creepy the people that played the Puerto Rican 'parents' didn't look much older than Katherine or Arch.
