LittleRickyII 09-21-2011, 08:05 PM Did Lucille Ball,Vivian Vance,Gale Gordon,Roy Roberts,or any of the other cast members of both formats, play dual roles on the show? Only Roy Roberts and Mary Jane Croft, unless you count people like Carole Cook as regulars, too. TV Knowledge Fan 10-04-2011, 12:16 PM ...she appeared with Lucy as far back as her radio series, "MY FAVORITE HUSBAND", in occasional guest starring roles. She became one of Lucy's favorite "cronies" (along with Mary Wickes and Barbara Pepper), and appeared occasionally on "I L0VE LUCY" before her regular appearances as "Betty Ramsey" towards the end of the series, in 1957. Then, when Mary Jane's husband, Elliott Lewis, began producing "THE LUCY SHOW", she again made several appearances as "Audrey", one of Lucy Carmichael's friends in Danfield. Elliott eventually left the series, but she didn't: when Lucy Carmichael needed a "new best friend" in Los Angeles, in the fall of 1965 (after Vivian Vance's departure, and Ann Sothern and Joan Blondell didn't quite work out), Lucy insisted that Mary Jane fill the role. So, she appeared as a slightly fictional version of herself...as "Mary Jane Lewis"...even when "THE LUCY SHOW" became "HERE'S LUCY" in 1968. :tv: |
