Julianna Margulies is having a busy week: on Sunday night she won the Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Drama for her role as Alicia Florrick on "The Good Wife".
Seven days later, the critically-acclaimed legal drama makes its much anticipated Season 3 premiere (Sun., Sept. 25 at 9PM ET on CBS).
Margulies went on "The Early Show" to preview the central conflict of the new season, and also talked about the 16-year gap between her two Emmy wins, the last of which came for her work on "ER".
"What I think gets interesting in this season is that I go up against his office constantly (Chris Noth's Peter Florrick).
He's really trying to run a clean office this time, like he's been given a second chance, and Alicia is sort of... not that she's going to the dark side, but she's going to win a case any way that she can."
"You know you always want to look for something that's interesting and challenging. Television celebrates women in that way, film is very different in terms of the options actresses are given.
This is a role that I find the most challening."
