View Full Version : 2 straight chokes for the Vikings
Vikings lead 17-7 against Chargers at halftime and choked a lead to lose 24-17 last week
Vikings lead 17-0 against Buccaneers at halftime and choked a lead to lose 24-20
Man, the Vikings suck, it is tough being a Vikings fan but I have been getting used to those chokes

So what is it?
Is it Mcnabb not being able to lead the team to points?
OR
The Defense gets relaxed after they team gets a 17 pt lead?
tiredmike59 09-18-2011, 05:16 PM Sounds like you need a new play caller, If they start playing conservative when they have the lead. Thats the way the Rams were over the last few years, they would just put their offense in their pocket when they got the lead. Thats no way to play football unless you have one hell of a defense.

And a 17 pt lead is NOTHING in the NFL which is why a defense getting relaxed is confusing lol

It is the defense, McNabb is not to be blamed this time

But why is the team not scoring more pts?
But why is the team not scoring more pts?
Because the Buccaneers turned it around in the 2nd half and prevented the Vikings from scoring

What is Mcnabb not doing???
What is Mcnabb not doing???
Nothing really, he had a good game, had 228 yards, much better than 39 yards last week
TVFactFan 09-18-2011, 05:59 PM Nothing really, he had a good game, had 228 yards, much better than 39 yards last week
Well he has to receive some blame because he had no TD passes
Well he has to receive some blame because he had no TD passes
That is because Frazier wanted Adrian to run more
Tweety 09-25-2011, 04:59 PM Would you believe THREE straight chokes?
They blew a 20-0 halftime lead against Detroit today (Week 3)
The Lions beat them 26-23 in OT. Detroit took a 23-20 lead with about 2:30 left in 4th Qtr, then the Vikings tied it on a FG with just over a minute left in regulation.
Minnesota's Jared Allen just missed recording a safety on Jahvid Best with just over a minute to go in regulation (after the Vikings scored their FG) Detroit was pinned back inside their own 5 yard line after a couple of penalties and a sack). Allen himself had caused Detroit to commit two false start penalties which pinned the Lions back.
A safety at that point in the game would have won it for the Vikings.

So that means that either the coach or Mcnabb, or the defensive coordinator has to go soon.

It'll be interesting to see how the front office will react to this. It's just crazy for a team to blow three huge leads like that in a row to start a season.

I think it will be the DC for now because the offense is scoring it's the defense that is givng up leads
BTW: a 20 pt lead at the half is not safe, if the losing team scores the lead is 13

I'm not sure ANY half time lead is safe in the NFL!
The Viking offense totally fizzled in the 3rd quarter, three possessions, three straight 3-and-outs. Meanwhile, the Lions' four 3rd quarter possessions ended with Punt, TD, FG and TD. Scoring drives were 52, 41 and 89 yards.
The Vikings' first two 4th quarter possessions were over on downs and a punt. Detroit scored two FGs during that time.
The Vikings are a pathetic joke of a football team! I hope the entire coaching staff is fired tomorrow but I am not holding my breath!
tiredmike59 09-25-2011, 08:25 PM Maybe they will be standing next to the rams coach at the unemployment line.
TVFactFan 09-25-2011, 08:26 PM well the vikings have a shot next week at the 0-3 chiefs next week. Now if they lose that then I don't know

I do not see the Vikings winning against the Chiefs next week, the Vikings always lose to the worse teams in the NFL like the 1-15 Panthers years ago
