I met Budd Hopkins who was featured in the missing time/alien abduction segment.

I actually ended up throwing a glass of wine in his face after he insulted my paintings because I painted in the style of Jackson Pollock and I'm pretty sure now that he hated Pollock and was jealous of him. He also came off like a total crackpot and his art style was terrible.

So that's my story of meeting someone from Unsolved Mysteries. I wonder if any of you will top that one

I hope Budd Hopkins reads this someday possibly.....

Really? WHOA! Hahaha, he seemed so chill in the interview, but if he openly insulted your art, I can't blame you. ;)

Closest I ever got was meeting a friend (my first cousin once removed) of Bobbi Parker's who was there behind the scenes as UM filmed, worked in the prison, and knew Dial and Randy as well. She told me how nice the crew was and how she'd help them organize the Parker home neatly for filming the reenactments.

Closest I ever came was I used to be friends with a woman who went to a support group for children who were given up for adoption. This woman was in the group with the hatbox baby Lady from unsolved mysteries.

I had a 5 or so minute telephone conversation with Bob Oechsler a year or two after the "Guardian" story aired on UM and Sightings.

My father and I went to see James Van Pragh (sp?) give a lecture about ten years ago. He did readings for several people in the audience.

The Bud Hopkins story is pretty cool, I must say. I remember Stack mentioning on UM that Hopkins was an artist.

I think I found that Deloris Brooks on a social networking site once. She's the black girl who wanted to find her music teacher, Madeline Strauss. I happened to be watching that case and something just told me to look them both up and see if I could "reunite" them. I know I probably shouldn't have bothered, but I thought it'd be cool to help. The lady looked like Deloris and was around the age she would be today. Unfortunately, she never replied back to my message even though I saw activity on her account since I last left that one message. The other lady I thought was Madeline also never replied back...*sigh*.

Yeah Hopkins is a terrible artist so it's no wonder that he's more into spreading crackpot theories on alien abduction. His class was such a waste of my time and money so I think I was right in what I did especially after he insulted my paintings.

I knew Craig Walker, slightly, he was on the last series of "new" episodes. He had kidnapped his children and taken them to Brazil. They were there for 2 or 3 years, but fortunately were found before the episode actually aired. Probably why I've never seen it discussed here...

I knew him way before he was married or had kids. I thought he was weird, but I was really shocked that he kidnapped his own kids away from their mom.

not in person, but I talked to Claudia's (can't recall her last name now) father back in 2000 online, when he was looking into her disappearance from the Jamaican resort and was rallying all the support he could find.I came across him on an aol travel message board (caribbean one).He was very upset,of course, and it's very sad and I do wish they could find out something about her.

thank you :)
I recall from the board there that after that segment aired,we all assumed the bartender did it and the resort covered it up to protect their name.I know no one wanted to go to that particular chain for awhile (not sure I can mention the name here),none of them, because they rotate staff. So that employee could have been at any of them,on a different island or location. And I still wouldn't go there.

Again, I have never met anyone featured on the show, whether the real persons or the actors that portay them, but I know a few who have their own Facebook pages, like Philip Pauli (kid genius) and Jane Boroski (who survived a stabbing by the New Hampshire serial killer/Connecticut River killer).

Jacob Wetterling updates:

2004- A young man was adtentified as looking like Jacob. He had saod he had grown up with a man and did not kniow who his parents were and was frightened. He did did not give a DNA sample but authorities were able to get his finger prints and he was not Jacob.

2007- Local Man is found dead in his cabin home near were Jacob was kidnappened. A lost poster of Jacob and a video tape of him was found in the home. The man had mental issues and worked as a Barbar in town. He claimed he was kidnaped as a child . Though no evidence of that could be found. Police dug up the ground all along the guys home and sent several objects in for testing. Nothing was found to connect him with the kidnapping of Jacob.

2010- A local farm near were Jacob was kidnapped was searched and land was dug up. Residents of the farm told CBS news they will not answer any of their stupied questions and had been harassed sence Jacob disapeared. Several objects were taken in for testing . No evidence , or connection to the case found there.

2011- Nancy Grace mentions the Jacob Wetterlong case on her show. Authorities report they got several leads called in. This was back in march so not sure if the leads led to something or not.

The Jacob Wetterling case was on Missing Reward a thirty minute show that aired right before Americas Most Wanted on saturdays in the 80s.. Since its popped up on here a few times I thought I would include the info. :)

I had totally forgotten this segment until Dr. Harter was mentioned of Facebook this morning.

There was a segment on UM about a set of male twins born in Winter garden that had been seperated at birth and given up for adoption. One of them lived in Orlando and was searching for his long lost twin. I believe he found him and a reunion update was shown.

Dr. Harter and his nurse/wife were shown as he was the dr that delivered the twins. We used Dr Harter for several years in the mod 60s prior to his retirement. He even pierced my ears.

Although I never met him, my mother spoke over the phone with Dr. Cyril Wecht in the early 80s. She was volunteering at a place near her college but she said it wasn't anything about his job for forensic pathology but was about some democratic thing.

One case I recall Dr. Wecht working on was the Jack Davis, Jr. death. He was the college student found at the bottom of a stairwell on campus.

One of his criticisms of the case was that the original ME ruled that Jack Davis died of regurgitating food particles into his lungs while drunk, yet the tissue slides showed no such thing.

Also, the original ME didn't even examine the head or brain of a 20 year old man who died under unusual circumstances with conflicting evidence. When Dr. Wecht did the 2nd autopsy, he found several fractures and bleeding on the brain, which he determined to be the real cause of death.

I remember that case. Wecht is probably the best pathologist out there now that I've read and looked into his work. What do you think happened to Jack Davis Jr.?

My family and I were friends with Fred C. Stofer, the FBI agent who worked on the case of Kenneth Robert Stanton and was interviewed for the segment. Some of you might remember his story. He was the child molester who got into the houses by saying he was inspecting milk and things such as that. The story creeped me out when I was young because the actor had huge, scary-looking glasses. Unfortunately, Mr. Fred passed away just a few months ago.

I don't know who he is. I don't think we get this show any longer in Canada, we used to get it on Spike in my area but no longer.

I actually was quite surprised when I was watching this a few years ago and here comes my next-door neighbour featured in one of the segmants. It was a missing brother story. Does this count, LOL

Okay, I found this thread because I was looking up UFO segments.

1) I worked for a guy in North Carolina who was featured in a UFO segment that took place in the Cape Fear region. I don't remember his name. The "UFO incident took place after I had moved on. Everything I saw on the segment could easily be explained by "normal everyday things." The UFO footage was well known military aircraft.

2) An Army officer who was severely injured in an auto accident. Possibly a hit and run. I think it occurred at Ft Huachuca. There was some conspiracy theory about some of his belongings including a camera disappearing. I met him before the accident and tried to get in touch with him in the 1990s through UM but never received a response.

3) I was recovering from emergency surgery (2020) when I saw and heard Jenny Edwards (Debbie Wolfe's mom) speaking to me in an unusual manner. We never got along so I figured the operation failed and I was in Hell. It turned out to be part of an UM segment.

4) I did know some people interviewed in segments that took place in North Carolina while I was stationed there with the Army. But I can't remember exactly since I haven't watched UM since about 2002.

Anyway if anybody can give me info on the UFO segment or the Army officer so maybe I could watch them again online I would appreciate it.

My family was friends with the Capozzi family from the Buffalo Bike Path Rapist case in Buffalo and Western NY. Never met Anthony but my sister went to school with him, while his younger brother and I were in school together. Anthony spent 22 years in jail for Sanchez’s misdeeds. Luckily both parents lived to see Anthony released in one of the ultimate miscarriages of justice.

I keep in touch with the family of Lori Jane Reaves, which was the online case where I found her interred at a paupers cemetery here in SC.

I've visited the graves of Walter Rice and Madeline Underwood which are local to me here in SC. Madeline is at an unmarked grave at Greenville Memorial Gardens which I recently documented on findagrave. Married name was Madeline House.

I would like to meet some of the ppl used to re-create the bad guys....

Like in the episode where these guys broke into someones house and waa gonna steal stuff but they came home and they ended up killing the guy and took off...

That one was called "Subject 1032" - I dunno if anyone else saw that one..... Or the one in Arizona where the guy killed 7 people just for moving out......Talking to those actors to see what they felt doing this would be interesting... (They didnt do it after all, they just helped them with the segment)
