Had it not been for Gary's outstanding performance and his sassy talk, I don't think Strokes would have lasted as long as it did.

As a matter of fact, I'm not sure if ANYONE won, or was nominated for anything!

This could help explain why Gary never received any recognition later in life. Note that he was always bummed out. All that everyone thought of him as was someone to poke fun at, call him ugly, get into his personal life and everything else!!! :(

You are correct on both topics! Gary made DS a big hit for NBC and I haven't found a thing on Emmy love for the show.

Gary died way too young, and I'm not sure if all of his dreams and wishes were fulfilled. :(

Yes he should've been nominated for and won an Emmy. He did win a People's Choice Award once or twice though. He was the reason the show was a huge hit! He was so cute and funny on it! And I agree he died way too young. He had such a sad life.
