CBS News' "The Early Show" is getting a change of venue and a new look, leaving its current studio at the General Motors Building in Manhattan, reports TVNewser.com.

CBS News Chairman Jeff Fager, President David Rhodes and programming VP Chris Licht talked about the move with staff in a town hall meeting on Thursday.

Reportedly, the new look for "The Early Show" when it relocates to the CBS Broadcast Center will be a marked difference from those of its competitors, NBC's "Today" and ABC's "Good Morning America."

One attendee at the meeting said the mockups for the new space resemble MSNBC's newsroom backdrop, according to the report.

The move is set to take place as soon as construction is completed, but a date has reportedly not been determined.

"....if you guys don't do something about 'THE EARLY SHOW', we're going to run our own programming instead, and to hell with you!!!!"

Moving the program back to West 57th Street, and redesigning the set so that it doesn't look like the competition (or perhaps too different), isn't enough. Virtually every revamped version of "THE EARLY SHOW" over the past several years has always ended up "tired", and "why bother to switch channels?". The show needs "new blood"...and fast....if it's going to be a contender to the competition.
