In the 1970s, 30 Rock's spiritual foremother, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, won three straight Emmys. Sure, the first trophy made the hit series a bigger hit, but the Nielsen glow was gone by the third—the series ended its storied run out of the Top 30.
Dramas can show Emmy-win fatigue, too.

I think the only problem a long running TV series can bring its actors is type
casting but he majority of the MTMS cast managed to avoid that,Mary certainly though hasn't found success in another sitcom since.
Ed Asner went on to spinoff Lou Grant and continued his dramatic career after,Betty White had the funny but not long lasting "The Betty White Show",then of course the big hit "The Golden Girls".
Gavin had "The Love Boat",Cloris after Phyllis finshed continued her highly successful film and TV career, same with Valerie although she was sacked from Valerie, she won her court case with Lorimar.
So no there was no curse for the Actors and they always seemed delighted to talk about the show.

If anything about the MTM show was a curse, please CURSE ME!!
Also, any comparison between the clever, heartfelt MTM and the drearily self-conscious and self-satisfied snarkfest '30 Rock' does just not exist in my dojo. Tina Fey vs. Mary Tyler Moore? That's not even a contest. ohno:
