Report: FBI Investigating Alleged Scarlett Johansson Nude Photos Hack

The FBI is investigating the release of several nude photos that were allegedly hacked from Scarlett Johansson's phone, FoxNews.com reports.

On Wednesday, two alleged self-portraits of a woman in the nude hit the internet, both featuring a face appearing to belong to the Lost in Translation actress.

"The FBI is aware of the alleged hacking incident and is looking into it," an FBI official told the site.



In the last year, the FBI has also investigated nude photo hackings for Jessica Alba and Vanessa Hudgens. It is thought that the alleged Johansson photos could be linked to those earlier celebrity-targeted hackings.

Reps for the 26-year-old actress did not immediately respond to TVGuide.com's request for comment.

Johansson sat down with CNN's David McKenzie in Nairobi, Kenya, which she was visiting in her role as an ambassador for the humanitarian group Oxfam.

The actress, who's currently filming "The Avengers", is just one of several female celebrities who've been targeted by hackers. Jessica Alba, Mila Kunis, Julianne Hough and Selena Gomez have also reportedly had their phones hacked.





"Who doesn't want to protect their own privacy? Just because you are in the spotlight doesn't mean that you're not entitled to your own personal privacy. No matter what the context is, if that is seiged in some way it feels unjust and it feels wrong.

People always ask me how I deal with invasion of privacy and I'm like 'I don't know.' To me it's an adjustment, and there are certain instances when people have to say 'enough is enough'."

Alleged Scarlett Johansson Phone Hacker Arrested by FBI

The FBI has arrested a person suspected in hacking the phone of Scarlett Johansson and other actresses, the Los Angeles Times reports.

The investigation, named Operation Hackerazzi, did not name other victims, but Vanessa Hudgens and Juliianne Hough are also believed to be on the list.



The FBI will offer more details about the arrest at a Wednesday press conference. TMZ.com cites sources that authorities believe the man acted alone in breaking into celebrity phones. This goes against a hacking group who have said they are responsible.

Law enforcement sources tell the Times that they have been investigating the hacking for a year -- before Johansson's story hit the press.

Celebrity Phone Hacker Didn't Do It for the Money

At a news conference in Los Angeles on Wednesday, FBI officials revealed that Jacksonville, Fla. resident Christopher Chaney was the person behind the phone and email hacks of stars Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis, Jessica Alba and Christina Aguilera.

Though while it was assumed Chaney did the hacking for financial gain, it turns out that wasn't the case -- the unemployed man used trial and error to grab the stars' passwords, and then was able to duplicate their inboxes once inside; even if they changed passwords, Chaney would know.

He faces 121 years in jail if found guilty of the various hacking charges.
