"Big Brother" Renewed for 14th Season

CBS has renewed summer staple, "Big Brother", for another season.

The 14th edition of the Julie Chen-hosted reality series will air next summer.



The current season, its most sucessful in seven years, wraps up with a 90-minute finale at 9:30 p.m. following the premiere of "Survivor: South Pacific".

The final three -- Porsche, Adam and Rachel -- will compete for the $500,000 grand prize, with the jury voting for who will win the ultimate reward.



The series delivered its largest audience and highest adults 18-49 ratings in seven years with year-to-year increases of 4 percent in viewers, 11 percent in 18-49, 4 percent in 18-34 and 12 percent in 25-54.

A reality show that's been on for 14 years just seems unreal to me.

Yay -that is good news. I hope they get all New people next summer

This season had quite a few redeeming moments, especially the finale! I hope they continue adding vets to the cast. They have picked awful new casts for quite a while now. It finally mixed things up a bit, and brought them their best ratings in years.

A reality show that's been on for 14 years just seems unreal to me.

In the "who really cares" dept I realize, its actually 12 years, since season 14 won't happen till next year and one year due to the writers strike, CBS did a "winter edition" as well, making two "seasons" in the same year.

This is exactly why I did a rant somewhere on this site that reality shows that do more than one edition per year like "survivor", "Dancing With The Stars" shouldn't call those seasons, because a "season" of a show should accuratley represent how many years a show has been in production.

Yay...Big Brother is my favorite reality TV show!
