#167: Washington or Bust
Picking up where Season 7 left off, the Seavers (minus Carol and Mike, written out as a college student AND a Broadway actor) quietly embrace their new lives in Washington, D.C.; meanwhile, a new tenant takes Mike's place via Christian Slater, who joins the cast as Aaron "Kid" Williams, a rough-and-tough pool hustler who is taken in by Jason and Maggie Seaver in a season-long effort for Jason and Maggie to turn Kid's life around.

Adjusting to his new life as one of the Seavers HAS NOT been easy for Kid; in fact, one of his former friends, Jack O'Shea (guest star Clarence Clemons), tries to talk him out of retirement, but to NO avail.
