A one-time-only opera based on the long-running NBC sitcom “Friends,” with one of the main cast members included, will take place later this month, the New York Post reports.

The special event, set for Sept. 28 at the Arts Theatre in London, is part of a promotion for the first broadcast of “Friends” on Britain’s Comedy Central, slated for Oct. 1. The organizers reported that David Schwimmer is “on board” with the project.

"One of the team had a meeting with David last week and he is definitely on board, but it is all TBC [to be confirmed]," said a rep for the special presentation.

E4 has been broadcasting "Friends" in the U.K. for seven years, showing two episodes each night. The channel aired its final episode last Sunday, with the sitcom soon to switch channels.

I'm guessing no one told David Schwimmer life was gonna be this way, because later this month, he'll take part in a Friends opera being put together in London! We all know how things went for Ross last time he was in London, don't we? Well, "Friends: The Opera" will take place for one night only on Wednesday, September 28th at London's esteemed Arts Theater, and the event is being put together to help promote the classic sitcom's move from one television network to another in reruns. Hey England, take note: In America, when a show in syndication jumps from one channel to another, we simply promote the move with commercials, not operas! It'll save you a ton of money!
