JamesG 09-07-2011, 03:26 PM Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis Ready to Join Expendables 2

You can't keep old action stars down.
With production moving forward on Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables 2, the only thing left for producer Stallone and director Simon West to do is to firm up a couple roles that had been lighting up the rumor mill ever since the decision was made to develop a sequel to the $275 million worldwide grossing original.
Now, according to Deadline, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis have just closed deals to take "substantial" roles in the film.
This is good news for action fans, since it will bring together almost every tough guy star from the last 25 years.
Aside from Stallone, original cast members Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews, Steve Austin and Jet Li are expected to return, and there's buzz about Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme joining as well.
About the only hero missing is Steven Seagal. (Though he might be busy.)
Willis has been very busy lately; he's off to Russia for Die Hard 5, after which he'll work on a sequel to Red.
Schwarzenegger, meanwhile, is working on Jee-Won Kim's Last Stand, where he'll play a border-town sheriff who's the only one standing in the way of an escaped drug lord intent on busting his way back into Mexico.
Filming will begin in October on the Lionsgate/Millennium Films Expendables 2; an Aug. 17, 2012 release date has been set.

comedyfreak 09-09-2011, 05:13 AM Good to hear about Die Hard 5 and Red, also good to have the cast back for another movie Expendables was pretty good. Who says you can't grow old for action movies.
isiahthomas 09-10-2011, 04:29 PM Very glad to hear Bruce and Arnold are gonna have bigger parts in Expendables 2. Also glad to hear Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme might join the cast. It would be awesome if Steven Seagal would join the cast. I hope Die Hard 5 is gonna be the last one. Arnold's Last Stand movie he's working on sounds good. Good to see Arnold doing action movies again. He should've never became a governor LOL.
JamesG 09-12-2011, 05:13 PM Also glad to hear Chuck Norris and Jean Claude Van Damme might join the cast.
As of now Expendables 2 is in pre-production on IMDB with Jean-Claude and Chuck Norris in the cast.
At this point things can quickly change but it's something to keep positive about for now.
It would be awesome if Steven Seagal would join the cast.
Awesome, but highly unlikely.
JamesG 09-14-2011, 01:37 AM Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris On Board for Expendables 2
09-13-2011
Author: Kelly West
In a recent conversation with Sly Stallone, Entertainment Weekly got the scoop on the sequel, which is set to begin shooting in Bulgaria later this month, and aims for an August 2012 release.
According to Stallone, Jean-Claude Van Damme is on board to appear in the film, and fans should expect a “big showdown” between Stallone and Van Damme.
Fans should also expect bigger parts for Schwarzenegger and Willis in the new movie.
Also on board for The Expendables 2 is the legendary Chuck Norris.
The mentioned but unconfirmed names for possible roles in the sequel were Nicolas Cage and John Travolta, but neither of them sound like sure things at this point. Hopefully, if they do appear in the film, they face off against one another at some point.
While the film is shaping up to be full of names and faces many of us grew up watching do roundhouse-kicks and/or dive away from explosions, it sounds like there will be plenty of new blood in the sequel.
“We also need some new blood in there,” Stallone said. “A Navy Seal-type, because with the Expendables none of them have 20-20 vision anymore. They need some help, man.”

Liam Hemsworth will play a sniper.
Director Simon West is shooting in Bulgaria later this year -- while also doing his part to lower the average age of the AARP action star cast.

isiahthomas 10-15-2011, 12:01 PM That's a nice picture of Arnold, Sylvester, Bruce. JamesG, is Arnold, Sylvester, Bruce still owners of Planet Hollywood restaurant/club? How many Planet Hollywoods are there in other cities besides Los Angeles?

Yes Arnold, Bruce, and Sylvester are still involved with Planet Hollywood; as well as Demi Moore who was married to Bruce Willis at the time of the franchise's opening.
There used to be a lot of Planet Hollywood's in the past around the U.S., but they have dwindled to just a few locations in recent years.
(btw, no restaurant is currently open in California anymore)
- Las Vegas Strip at Caesars Palace
- Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
- New York, New York - Times Square
- Walt Disney World Resort at Downtown Disney (Florida)
There's also one in Guam (U.S. Territory).
isiahthomas 10-15-2011, 03:18 PM So Planet Hollywood isn't a club also? It's just a restaurant? Have you been to the one in New York JamesG? I've never been there.
JamesG 10-15-2011, 03:27 PM So Planet Hollywood isn't a club also? It's just a restaurant? Have you been to the one in New York JamesG? I've never been there.
It's a restaurant. It's similar to The Hard Rock Cafe in that they display movie memorabilia instead of music memorabilia.
From the ones currently open I've been to the Times Square location as well as the Downtown Disney one in Florida.
From the ones that are no longer open I've been to:
- the old NYC location on 57th Street
- Atlantic City, New Jersey (I believe the spot became a Rainforest Cafe)
- Washington, D.C.
JamesG 11-19-2011, 12:28 PM Stallone! Willis! Arnold!! Chuck Norris!!! An Exclusive Look at the Expendables 2 Poster!
by: Mike Sampson
Nov. 18, 2011
It's hard to imagine a movie like The Expendables getting more star-studded but somehow Sylvester Stallone has done just that for the sequel.
In addition to beefed up roles for Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger (who will no longer be resorted to a simple cameo), the sequel boasts Jean Claude Van-Damme, Liam Hemsworth and Chuck Norris.
While the original film looked like a police lineup of old action stars, the sequel doesn't make that same mistake. We've got an exclusive look at the poster for The Expendables 2 and the cast is bringing the big guns. Literally.
I'm hoping that with a poster upon us that means a teaser trailer should be hitting theaters soon.
[Ed. note: Aware the poster has gibberish text in the billing block. That's standard Lorem Ipsum text the artists use to layout the design when the credits aren't final.]

Yes that's Jet Li.
isiahthomas 11-19-2011, 01:38 PM JamesG, have you seen Jason Statham's Blitz and Killer Elite movies? Have you seen Terry Crews in Lottery Ticket movie with rappers Little Bow Wow and Ice Cube? That's a very funny movie. I bought it.
JamesG 11-30-2011, 04:25 PM Tennis Ace Novak Djokovic To Do Cameo In Expendables 2
By NELLIE ANDREEVA | Tuesday November 29, 2011
He is arguably the best actor on the ATP Tour with his spot-on impersonations.
Now world’s No. 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic is set to make his professional acting debut with a cameo in The Expendables 2.
Djokovic has already arrived in Bulgaria, where the sequel is filming.
The tennis champion will play himself in the movie after getting an invitation from producer Avi Lerner.

isiahthomas 12-03-2011, 02:42 PM JamesG, you didn't answer my question about the Jason Statham movies and Terry Crews movie.
JamesG 12-03-2011, 08:05 PM ^ I didn't see those movies.

isiahthomas 12-17-2011, 12:26 PM I tried watching the trailer and it said error occured, try again later. I saw Jason Statham's The Bank Job movie last week for the first time and i didn't like it that much. I fell asleep on most of it. I might rent it again today. JamesG, what did you think of his Crank movies? His Killer Elite movie with Robert Deniro comes out on video next month. Make sure you check that out JamesG.

I saw The Bank Job back when it first came out at the theater. I liked it more because it was based on true events.
I enjoyed the Crank movies a lot; real check-your-brain-out-at-the-door type of action flicks.
I plan on seeing Killer Elite when it comes to home release. Lot of people I know think it's a remake of The Killer Elite w/ James Caan, but it's not.
JamesG 01-18-2012, 02:52 PM Will The Expendables 2 be PG-13 Thanks to the Demands of Chuck Norris?
by Kevin Jagernauth
January 18, 2012
Rounding up a stable of old school action stars, The Expendables was touted as a macho return to old school action moviemaking, and came stamped with an R-rating, delivering all the explosions and cussing (though strangely, none of the gratuitous nudity) of classic shoot 'em ups.
And so, for the The Expendables 2, Sylvester Stallone raised the stakes. He rounded up even more faces (including Jean-Claude Van Damme) some young talent (Liam Hemsworth) and snagged Simon West, director of Con Air fame, to shoot the thing.
But will the demands of Chuck Norris actually find the testosterone-filled movie holding itself back?
According to an interview Norris himself recently did in the Polish paper Gazeta, the answer is yes. The folks over at Expendables Premiere (via Arrow In The Head) have done the translating and it will be disheartening, especially to those who hold up the bearded star as some sort of action icon.
"In 'Expendables 2,' there was a lot of vulgar dialogue in the screenplay. For this reason, many young people wouldn't be able to watch this, but I don't play in movies like this. Due to that I said I won't be a part of that if the hardcore language is not erased. Producers accepted my conditions and the movie will be classified PG-13."
Frankly, this isn't too much of a surprise. Norris has always been the tamest of the crew of elderly action stars, with his patriotic, flag waving movies giving him plenty of opportunities to save America and blow sh*t up, but he was never one to drop too many f-bombs.
And being the hard rightwinger that is, his aversion to off-color material and his embrace of wholesome values only seems to have increased over the years.
Now, whether or not the Norris name has enough power to have sway over the rating and cut of an entire movie remains to be seen. But it's interesting that, just like the MPAA, it's words and not heads exploding that seem to be of the most concern to the actor.
So, will The Expendables 2 go out as a PG-13 movie? Are the producers trying to snag the post-Hunger Games Hemsworth fanbase?
Guess we'll find out soon enough, and just remember, last time around an even more violent cut of The Expendables was eventually released on DVD/Blu-ray and we wouldn't be too surprised to see them drop a santized version of the sequel in theaters followed by a more salty version later on to watch at home.
So take that you motherlover!

My brother wants to make a film which features Drew Carey, "Weird Al" Yankovic, Dave Chappelle, and Mike J. Nelson of MST3K Fame...and I feel that
if they are in a film together...the highest rating I want is PG-13.
Why?
"Weird Al" Yankovic-NEVER cusses...even though he said "Bastard" and "Slut" in a couple of songs...he won't say vulgar words.
Mike J. Nelson-He's a Christian and though said The S-Bomb...he probably didn't say The F-Bomb.
Drew Carey-Though he probably cussed...he has more of a Midwestern Charisma.
The only exception is Dave Chappelle...but he probably doesn't want to be saying "I'm Rick James, Bitch" all the time.
isiahthomas 01-21-2012, 12:04 PM If Chuck Norris wants the movie to be PG-13, then he should be outta the movie because i want it to be rated R and i'm sure action fans of the first Expendables wanna see a R rating. He's been in action movies before that were rated R. So why is he tripping now about the script has too much cussing? Who cares if the movie has a lot of cussing.
JamesG 01-21-2012, 02:00 PM Stallone has confirmed that The Expendables 2 will be rated PG-13.
He gave a statement to Ain't It Cool News:
"The film is fantastic with Van Damme turning in an inspired performance… Our final battle is one for the ages. The PG-13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level.
"This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with the broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry."
It hasn't been directly addressed if this had anything to do with Chuck Norris.
isiahthomas 01-21-2012, 02:09 PM That sucks it's gonna be PG-13 but i have seen a few action movies that were PG-13. So i'm just gonna have to wait to see how it's gonna be. Die Hard 4 was PG-13 and it was alright.
JamesG 01-21-2012, 02:20 PM That sucks it's gonna be PG-13 but i have seen a few action movies that were PG-13. So i'm just gonna have to wait to see how it's gonna be. Die Hard 4 was PG-13 and it was alright.
Yeah, that's why I bought the Unrated Cut of Live Free or Die Hard on DVD when it came out.
That one is much better.
isiahthomas 01-21-2012, 02:32 PM There's a unrated version for Die Hard 4? I'm gonna have to check that out. I saw Best Buy was selling the movie for $10 but i don't know if it's the unrated version. I'm gonna go to Best Buy next weekend to see if it's the unrated version. JamesG, i found Arnold Schwarzenegger's Commando movie at Best Buy last weekend for $5 and i bought it because i had been trying to find it because i love that movie. I couldn't believe it was $5. I bought a copy of it for my hispanic co-worker also because he loves the movie too. I also bought a 4 pack of Steven Seagal's movies Out For Justice, Exit Wounds, Hard To Kill, On Deadly Ground from Best Buy and i bought Fast and The Furious 5 on dvd too. Next weekend i'm gonna get Cuba Gooding Jr's The Hit List and Jason Statham's The Mechanic movies from Best Buy for $20. I'm also gonna see if Target still has rapper 50 Cent and Val Kilmer's Blood Out movie because the last time i was there, they had it. I don't know why the mom and pop video store i go to doesn't has it. Another Blockbuster Video in my neighborhood closed a few weeks ago. I'm getting tired of these Blockbuster's closing because pretty soon i'm gonna have to rent movies online because i don't like Redbox vending machines.
JamesG 01-21-2012, 02:37 PM The cover is below so you can see what it looks like. That's the version I have.
Yeah I also love browsing through the action flicks at Target and Best Buy. I usually wait a few years until after the movie is out because the prices decrease a lot.
I'm not spending maybe $19.99 for the DVD new when I can get it for $6.99 in a couple of years.
isiahthomas 01-21-2012, 02:47 PM Do you know when there's gonna be a release date for Die Hard 5? Amazon.com has a lot of old action movies for cheap. I haven't bought anything from them in a long time but i will in the summer because there's a lot of old action movies i want like Action Jackson with Carl Weathers and Vanity(She was so hot back in the day. Did you know she's a church preacher now? She doesn't like to be called Vanity anymore and she goes by her real name Denise Matthews.).
JamesG 01-21-2012, 03:29 PM Not much is known about the 5th Die Hard film right now.
The title is looking to be A Good Day To Die Hard.
They are currently filming.
isiahthomas 01-28-2012, 02:02 PM JamesG, i saw The Bank Job movie with Jason Statham again and i liked it. I like the hot white woman Saffron Burrows who was in the movie with him. She used to play on Law and Order Criminal Intent tv show with Jeff Goldblum. Have you seen Jason's Blitz and Killer Elite movies yet? I'm gonna see Killer Elite again today because i fell asleep on some of it. I bought Jason's The Mechanic movie today from Target.
JamesG 01-28-2012, 04:29 PM Haven't seen Killer Elite yet.
isiahthomas 01-28-2012, 05:02 PM Jason's woman in Killer Elite is hot. I've never seen her before. Have you seen Blitz yet?
JamesG 01-28-2012, 09:02 PM Nope,
If you didn't know by now, I have LOTS of things to catch up on.
