Wasn't it hard to watch those episodes between storyline between Niles and Daphne when that cat was out of the bag? I mean, I know the show couldn't all be about Niles and Daphne, but wow...

Just when the plot gets running at full tilt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't wait until the episode when Niles revealed to Daphne how he felt. Daphne spending almost all of season 7 secretly pining for Niles until Frasier told him how Daphne felt. The reason Daphne knew how Niles felt was because of Frasier being doped up on painkillers. Daphne was now in Niles' position, secretly in love with someone and not being able to tell them. Season 7 was so hard to get through because I was so anxious for Niles to find out about how Daphne felt about him which ultimately led up to him telling Daphne how he felt about her.
Something Borrowed, Someone Blue were two of the best acted episodes ever! I just loved them. DHP and Kelsey were amazing in the scenes when Frasier tells Niles that Daphne knows how he feels and she feels the same. DHP and Jane were amazing in the scenes when Niles reveals to her how he really feels about her and then Daphne kissing him and then leaving him standing alone. Of course, when Daphne comes to Niles on the Winnebago, that just made it all better. Nobody else could have played those scenes the way they did.
I just loved Seasons 8, 9 and 10. And I liked some of season 11 but it was mainly the season finale when Daphne gave birth to she and Niles son David. :)
Niles and Daphne were and are the best TV couple hands down! :D

There are so many episodes of Frasier that I love and it really is hard to pick an absolute favorite, but I think I'm going to have to go with Something Borrowed Something Blue. It's got pretty much everything; romance, sadness, hilariousness, suspense and even drama. It was a beautifully done episode and Season 7 is one of my favorites. I think SBSB is one of the first episodes I ever saw; and the one that made me fall in love with N/D. But it didn't mean as much to me as when I saw it "in order" after watching the show from the beginning.
And I can't say how happy I am that I was watching these on DVD and not in prime time because I could not have stood the suspense. But even so,the way it ended up was so worth the wait!

It was. It's like all I wanted to know about was what was going to happen with those two. I remember seeing an interview once years back where Kelsey was questioned about the direction of the show around about season 8 or 9 and he said there'd be more emphasis on Frasier's personal life and that "this isn't the Niles and Daphne show!" Thinking back, it's funny that he said that because I don't think he realized at the time how much it really was the Niles and Daphne Show. Or he did realize it and didn't like it.

Whenever I see that scene in The Fight Before Christmas when Niles asks Daphne onto the balcony to explain why he needed his gift back-- but she thinks he's going to tell her how he feels about her-- and she wants him to-- I always wish I could just jump into the tv and tip Niles off with that inside information. It's gut-wrenching to me to know that he has this perfect opportunity to say what's in his heart and have her acknowledge it the way he dreams she would, and all he can think about is getting back together with Mel. It hurts my heart that right when he's trying so hard to put Daphne behind him because he thinks she's happily engaged is right when she realizes that Niles could be the real love of her life. But of course it's all better with SBSB. :)
