I don't know if I'm on the right board but has anyone been watching the 1950's show "Jeff's Collie"? It's the start of the "Lassie" saga and I've really gotten in to it! It's on RTV.

...while it was still in syndication in the 1960's.

There were SO many episodes of "LASSIE" (17 seasons' worth on CBS [1954-'71], and three first-run syndicated seasons after that, through 1974), the producer created separate "packages" for syndication. The first three and a half seasons (featuring Tommy Rettig, 1954-'57) were retitled "JEFF'S COLLIE", as first-run episodes of the original "LASSIE" were still appearing on the network. Then, the 1958-'61 episodes featuring Jon Provost {the remainder of the 1957-'58 season featuring Cloris Leachman and Jon Shepodd as the "Martins", with Provost, weren't syndicated} were later seen on local stations as "TIMMY AND LASSIE" [Sandy Frank Film Syndication distributed those in the '60s and '70s].

Sandy Frank. So these were the Buffoons who split up the series when it was syndicated. I was six years old when I was introduced to the dawg. The show was well into its "Ranger" years by then. I soon became aware that there were two other "Versions" of this show circulating, mainly Jeff's Collie and Timmy and Lassie. At the time I didn't realise they were one CONTINIOUS Series. Why? Because Sandy Frank LEFT OUT Seasons 4, 9, 10 and 11 when they split up this series! Seasons 4 and 11 had the episodes where Lassie Changes Owners, and I wasn't able to see them until recently, thanks to the sets Y2K3Joker was selling on ioffer at the time. (He still has them for sale on this sites "Trading Post")
