As the title suggests, the sitcom is about two broke girls: Max (Kat Dennings), a smart-mouthed Brooklyn waitress who also works as a nanny, and her new coworker Caroline (Beth Behrs), an heiress who must now make her own living after her Bernie Madoff-like pops is locked up in jail. They don't get off on the best foot, but they end up moving in together and plan to start their own business (Max makes some killer cupcakes). It's like a modern-day Laverne & Shirley!

It's not like it would be hard to top! Nonetheless, the show looks awful! Poor Kat Dennings...

The only thing this show appears to have in common with Laverne and Shirley is that the two main characters are women who live together. "2 Broke Girls" has a long way to go before it can even begin to be compared to L&S. Talk to me when and if "2 Broke Girls" spends several seasons at or near the top of the ratings. then we'll talk comparison.

That would be a bad thing since viewers want to see something they never saw before.

Sadly, Sol, a lot of the new shows sound like copy cats of something else.

Yeah you can have similar TYPE of comedy like family or workplace but it defintely can't be a copy cat of a past sitcom. That's just lazy and stupid

I agree 100% but again I have read reviews of certain sitcoms being compared to Laverne & Shirley or the Odd Couple etc. (Which by the way, Laverne and Shirley is just a female version of The Odd Couple anyway lol)
