View Full Version : Would The Shortlived Spinoff 'Sanford Arms' Lasted Longer If Had Julio Starred?
Brian Damage 09-03-2011, 08:30 PM Do you think the actor Gregory Sierra could've made a bit more of a difference on this show or was it just a bad idea from the beginning???

Only if Lamont was there with him
rollo's girl 09-25-2011, 12:47 AM um, no.
catlover79 09-25-2011, 02:10 AM Maybe it would've lasted longer, but I don't think it would've been a hit because of one simple reason: Fred and Lamont weren't there. Besides, I think Chano from Barney Miller was a stronger character with more range for Gregory Sierra to work with. :D
Lola Crazy 01-29-2012, 12:37 AM Probibly not. Unless pepole won't mind seeing him again on another show. He was on All The Family was he? By The way this spin off only lasted 2 months!
TVFactFan 01-29-2012, 12:56 AM Julio's existence served no purpose on a show without FRED and LAMONT
Cloud9 Lorraine 06-29-2012, 10:12 PM I agree with the others here. All the spin offs were doomed with out Fred and Lamont together. They were the Dynamic Duo of Watts!
TVFactFan 06-29-2012, 10:28 PM Sanford Arms was like
The Jeffersons without George and Weezy in season 12
Good Times without Esther Rolle and Jimmie Walker in season 7
Whats happening without Raj and Rerun in season 4

TRUE!!
And the Sanford residence at 9114 South Central belonged to Fred and Lamont. It was so unnatural seeing others living there . . .
TVFactFan 06-30-2012, 02:32 PM TRUE!!

I know, who the hell would have wanted to see different people living in the Jeffersons house while Bentley still came over to borrow things.
BTW: The Ratings for Sanford Arms was #100 which is why it only lasted 4 weeks LOL
Cloud9 Lorraine 06-30-2012, 08:29 PM Did you like "Sanford"? That was another show I couldn't get into. Once again, I think the Fred/Lamont team was imperative.

Sanford wasn't a spinoff it was a revival series and I loved it. I have all 26 eps on DVD. Just a shame it didn't last longer
Cloud9 Lorraine 06-30-2012, 11:42 PM I didn't realize there were 26 episodes in all. I've only seen a few when Bet aired the series several years ago.
Mr. Television 06-30-2012, 11:50 PM Sanford was a good show. Not as good as the original but it was funny. Fred & Cal worked pretty good together. As for Sanford Arms, I know I saw all the episodes but I can't remember much about it. I guess that says it all. lol
