OH Nuts!

In one of their commentaries on the first SHOUT! release, David and Sam mention the "posse" - Ozzie and Harriet's contempories/friends. Mine is "The Tangled Web" where Ozzie has to impersonate Joe Randolph to impress one of Clara's friends. It's a great ep, and there's a couple of really great scenes in it. One is a hoot where Ozzie "gooses" Clara and another where Harriet gives Ozzie a good swift kick for gumming up things.
So...what's your favorite "posse" episode?

I like "The Magic of Three" where we have Ozzie, Doc, Darby and Butch Barton, Harriet, and Mrs. Darby with prominent parts. The men are singing barbershop style at the Women's Club Dinner and that makes for a series of fine situations. Look for Connie Harper as Doc's nurse in this episode.

That one was nice-and Connie was sharp as always - as Doc's secy. Ozzie deserved a GREAT big bowl of ice cream for that ep - he didn't drop a thing @ the dinner!
Some other nice "posse" eps are "The Prowler" and "The Bridge Group"

Yes, they were also good. "Busy Christmas" has Doc Williams, Joe and Mrs. Brewster. "Road Race", "The Top Gun" are also good Posse episodes. The supporting cast starting with "Thorny" right through to "Joe Randolph" was excellent. Clara, Sally Darby, and Miss Edwards were also good. It would be nice if someone wrote a book about the production of the tv show, I would like to know why some cast members came and went and how Ozzie could have possibly done all he did on the show.
Rick's Dinner Guest(s) It has Tuesday Weld in it. Sort of another series of mishaps. Rick is having her over for dinner. Ozzie is planning a poker party, but has to change plans because he finds out the girls mom & dad are coming, too. Ozzie goes out to pick up a few things for dinner and a man overhears Ozzie's name and introduces himself and adds that his daughter has invited Ozzie's son to his house for dinner tonight. Ozzie assumes that it is a mix-up and that they are all supposed to go to the girls house. The man says, no, just your son, and that he is going bowling and won't be there.
So, Ozzie is off the hook so he can have his poker game at his house and begins planning for the poker party again. When he gets home, he tells Rick that he met the girl's dad and Rick is to go to the girl's home, alone. Rick is confused, but goes over to her house where she is surprised that he came to pick her and her parents up to take them to Rick's house for dinner.
Rick phones Ozzie to tell him that they will be coming for dinner afterall, and Dave walks by ready to go to his girl's place for dinner, so Ozzie figures out it was actually the father of Dave's date that he met. So, Ozzie tells Rick to stall with the girl & her family while Ozzie buys some time to locate Harriet to get the dinner going. Rick drives them around all over town, since they are new to town. The most hilarious thing is that they stop for gas [remember Rick is stalling and buying some time] and he only needs 1 gallon and the price was 35 cents, LOL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Funny stuff with Ozzie & friends trying to salvage the turkey that Harriet was planning for the original dinner with the girl and her parents [one of the guys made sandwiches with it]. Joe is sent to the movie theater to find Clara & Harriet and gets engrossed in the movie and forgets what he is there for. Connie Harper plays an usherette. Back home the guys are making salad, spaghetti and ''canned'' sauce and setting the table, arguing about where the knives & forks go. Rick arrives with the girl and her folks, just as Harriet [never missing a beat] walks out of the kitchen with her apron on, and the girl and her parents are none the wiser. The dinner was a hit and the girl's father tells his wife that she must get Harriet's spaghetti sauce recipe as you can not get sauce that good out of a can. The poker party was descretly moved to the basement. Ozzie mentions poker to the girls dad and they both go down and play poker with the guys. As the moms go to the living room to chat.
Ricky sings his guitar-only version of, Never Be Anyone Else, to Tuesday Weld.

Those are all great picks !
I'll add one to the mix..
Don't know the name of it.. but Ozzie thinks that his friends aren't real friends and that they wouldn't be there for him if he ever really needed them.
In the end they all pull through for 'ol Oz.

I don't know if this counts as a "posse" episode, but the one where Ozzie and Harriet are considering selling the house and moving into an apartment but then Ozzie has a dream that they are in this tiny apartment and everyone they know comes for a visit at once! LOL!

It is a great ep! That dream sequence Ozzie has is wild! I only have 15-20eps totally uncut & I'm glad this is one of them.
