Would they have used the same sets or do you think they would have updated them, at least updated the apartment set? It looked very small and cramped unlike say the set of Punky Brewster, in which Henry's apartment was big for just 1 person living in it.
Do you think the show would have survived past 1 season for 1983-1984?
Would they have used a theme song similar to the tone of season 1/2 of Gimme A Break, or do you think they would have used a more synthesized theme since GAB was changing its theme song that fall and it would have been by the same team who put together Gimme A Break?
Who would have been cast? Max, Danny and who else? Maybe neighbors in the apartment building? Maybe a few store workers? It looked like it was only gonna be the two of them if the show became a series. We saw no store workers in Max's deli, just Max.
I think if the show became a series, they would have updated the apartment for sure. Made it bigger, say Max renovated. The kitchen had no regular sized fridge, it had a mini dorm fridge. The living room looked so cramped up to the kitchen. I think the show would have focused more on Danny, and her going to school, sort of like they did with a lot of shows in the early to mid 1980s. Sets of Danny's school, maybe different locations in the town of Glenlawn. crossovers with GAB here and there. It's interesting to think how they would have handled it. I also think it would have a synthesized 1980s theme, too.
For a cast I think it would have been Max, Danny, possibly a good friend of Danny's who lived in the building they lived in and her parents in the building. Maybe the apartment landlord, too, and their spouse if they had one, and possibly a store help such as a teenage guy helping Max out.
