It has been just over a month since I posted the thread titled "Beyond Therapy". Just in case some of you do not know, this is the title of an episode of "Family Ties". The purpose of this post was to draw parelells between that episode of "Family Ties" and the "Gimme a Break!" episode called "Samantha's Protest". The thing that the two have in common is the fact that the word disgusting was used in both episodes. Like I have mentioned on a bunch of occasions, whenever I hear the word disgusting it always take me back to Julie's words of wisdom at the protest during that third season episode! That is the word that she used to describe her sister's arms wrapped around the boy that she liked with her bosoms pressed against his upper body and her crotch leaning against his leg. Shame on you Katie! In any event, a couple of days ago I happened to be up at four in the morning and I watched the first-season episode of the "Flintstones" titled "A Split Personality". To make a long story short, Fred got hit on the head with a bottle and lost consiousness. When he came to, he thought he was an upper-class Englishman. By the middle of the episode, Wilma, Betty and Barney had no idea what to do with him! Wilma was going through some old pictures of Fred before he was under the influence. Fred was very embarrassed by the way he used to be. Probably about as embarrassed as Julie was by Katie's behavior at the protest! I find it amazing how TV history repeats itself! In any event, one of the photos was of Fred winning a pie-eating contest with the filling all over his face. All he had to to was look at the picture and the word disgusting came out of his mount! All I had to do with hear him say the word and my mind drifted right back to Julie in the episode from 1984! When someone is as fond of anyone as I am of Julie, they get reminded of her by the craziest things!
