In 2004, Emma Stone was just plain Emily, fighting for fame on a reality show. The future actress participated on a VH1 series that aimed to create a new "Partridge Family" … and won a role!

“In Search of The Partridge Family” saw eight people competing for the roles from the ‘70s sitcom. A brunette Stone was one of eight “Laurie” contestants, who were judged on their singing, acting and resemblance to the original actress.

After belting out hits like “We Belong,” “Emily” won the role of Laurie Partridge and filmed a pilot episode for the “The New Partridge Family."

I thought that this was an intended TV movie.

So this was intended then to be a series.

I'd picture for a feature length theatrical version:
My pick for players:
Shirley Partridge-Courtney Thorne-Smith

Keith Partridge - Ashton Kutcher

Laurie Partridge-Rachel Bilson

Tracey Partridge-Bailee Madison

Chris & Danny Partride-undecided

Reuben Kincaid-John Goodman.

Shirley Jones herself, introducing Emma Stone (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=acMgZWidqKM). I'm not going to embedded the video because the title of it isn't exactly "safe for work". And yes, Shirley does refer to her as "Emily Stone". Emma Stone's birth name is "Emily Jean Stone" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emma_Stone). She changed (https://www.marieclaire.co.uk/entertainment/people/emma-stone-real-name-647391) it to "Emma" after learning that there was already an "Emily Stone" who was registered with the Screen Actors Guild.

It's sort of like how Michael Keaton couldn't use (https://www.thelist.com/468636/the-real-reason-michael-keaton-changed-his-name/) his birth name of "Michael Douglas" for his acting career because there was already a Michael Douglas (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Douglas) in the Screen Actors Guild.

That's pathetic SAG doesn't allow two actors with the same name.

Funny they auditioned singing ability when Susan Dey, the original Laurie, just lip synced.

Emma Stone Revealed She "Would Like" To Be Called By Her Real Name (https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/emma-stone-revealed-she-freaked-203215006.html)

"When I get to know them, people that I work with do. It's just because my name was taken [by another actress in SAG]," she said. "Then I freaked out a couple of years ago."
