View Full Version : The Unbearble Slowness of Being (home)

Just wanted to say "hi" to everyone, after my sort of unforseen hiatus from the boards. I guess I should have said "bye" before I disappeared for a month, but I really wasn't expecting to be gone that long. You see, the aliens needed to perform more tests on me than they had originally anticipated. No actually, I went home for the holidays, and whenever I go home, the Unbearbable Slowness of the dial-up connection (I have been sooooo ruined by cable modems) and the Unbearable Slowness of my dad's computer in general contribute to my posting far less frequently than usual. However, my dad's computer only seems to be getting slower and slower and more annoying over time, so much so that I cannot bear to go online there except for the most pressing of things (fortunately I didn't have anything pressing since all the e-mail I get is generally unimportant), so I just didn't go online for like a whole month.

I did miss everyone, though, and I missed the conversations here, however, it was nice to have a bit of a break from my near-addiction to the internet and to simply chill with family and friends.

Altogether I had a spendid holiday season and hope you all did too.

I'll apologize in advance if in the next couple of days I start a topic that has been discussed recently. I am planning on responding to things on the first page, but I am not going to try to dig through like 10 pages to see what all I missed.

I will, however, answer a question that I remember seeing posted the one time I tried to come here over break: I think it was posted by Jenny, and she wanted to know what classes we were taking this quarter/semester/term, etc. I am taking Sociology 606: Social Movements, Sociology 605: Sociology of Sexuality and Comparative Studies in the Humanities 367.01: American Identity in the World.

Guess that's about all I have to say for now.

Any important board news I should know about?

Welcome back, Bootsy!

I don't think you missed too much around here. It has been relatively calm for a change. We just discussed Christmas traditions and gifts along with New Year's resolutions. Nothing out of the ordinary...nothing that I can recall anyway!

Once again, good to have ya back!

Oh I forgot to tell you about my bit of news: we got a kitten! She was a stray, she kept trying to get into our garage when my mom was leaving for work. We decided to keep her. SHe is so cute. See for yourself:

My mom named her Olivia Merry (Merry instead of Mary b/c we got her around x-mas). Here is another cute pic:

ok, one more, and this is all, I promise. I just couldn't resist. Here she is attacking the dangerous make-up brush:

LOL! She's cute!

Welcome back! I wondered what happened to you, but with break I figured you'd gone home. :)

Such a cute cat!

Welcome back, Bootsy. You have been missed!

News? Well, there were a few fights and arguments.

We got a new member, Gothic of Darkness, I think. He/She is pretty cool I guess.

I think you missed a lot. But I'm sure the information isn't crucial to your very survival!

Glad you had a happy holiday.
