I've loved Barbara Eden since...well,ever since I can remember.I Dream of Jeannie (along with Batman) is my very first memory of TV,and it's one of my top 2 shows of all-time,to this day (along with The Monkees).

When I was a kid,my Dad had the incredible TV book,How Sweet It Was...a 450-page bible of TV shows with over 1400 photographs that was originally published in 1966.It's one of the greatest TV books ever,a real treasure trove.I used to pore over it,reading about shows that I liked...and wishing that I could see so many of the "lost" programs that were never shown in syndication (at least not in my area).

The show that I wanted to see the most was, hands down,How To Marry a Millionaire,starring...wow,Barbara Eden, almost ten years before she first donned that iconic harem outfit!Unfortunately,it took almost 30 years until my wish came true...and I found a complete "unofficial" set of the entire series. In some ways,it was worth the wait. How To Marry a Millionaire is a very funny and enjoyable show...one of my favorites from the 1950's.The cast (Barbara Eden,Merry Anders,Lori Nelson, and Lisa Gaye) is not only beautiful, but quite comedically gifted (especially Ms. Eden).I much prefer the cast, and show,to the 1953 film of the same title that it was spawned from. It's not even close, really,as I'm not a fan of anyone in the movie,or of the film itself.

Is anyone else familiar with this series? It's still, regrettably, rather obscure. There's not even a topic thread for it on the 1950's page. I would LOVE to see a commercial DVD release...that would be a dream come true.

WGN showed a couple episodes of it back in the late 1980's. That's the only time I ever saw it. It was pretty good from what I remember.

Check out youtube - - there are a few clips from the TV show. Just do a search under "How to Marry a Millionaire TV series". One clip appears to feature Barbara's character.

I've only seen one episode of "How to Marry a Millionaire"-one that guest starred Morey Amsterdam as a talent agent I believe?- but from what I saw I liked it. All the leading actresses were good (esp. Eden's character Loco) but somehow, when watching it, I got the feeling that I was watching a movie rather than a television show-- it had a certain air to it. If it had stuck around longer I think it would've been a bigger hit, but at least a couple episodes still survive today.

These are the type of series that Antenna TV should be showing, or at least once a week on themed Saturday nights called "Lost & Found Classic TV", there are so many. The original poster says he has the entire series, so I guess more than a few still exsist of "Millionaire".
