Remaking classic tv shows seem to be the latest craze in Hollywood, but that is nothing new to The Odd Couple. Felix Unger & Oscar Madison have been "rebooted" hundreds of times, directly and even not so directly.

Let's see, you had The "New" Odd Couple, The Oddball Couple, Laverne & Shirley, Perfect Strangers, My Two Dads, Two & A Half Men etc...

My point being, no need to bother remaking this television classic, because it has already been done over & over & over again.

There was also a female version of the play.

True, but some of those did not feature extreme neat vs. sloppy characters. :)

FWIW the New Odd Couple was pretty good even though they reused scripts from the original version of the show. I wasn't that impressed with the Odd Ball Couple from the one episode I saw, very weird.
