RICEARONI, LOL

Jerry has been hired as a NFL analyst. I just hope he is not a homer like Michael Irvin is on the NFL Network

I don't ever recall seeing a former niners player on TV as a analyst

Playoff Loss to Niners-Jan 1, 1989-(34) to (9)

Playoff loss to the Niners-Jan 6, 1990-(41) to (13)

Loss to Niners last game of the 1990 season-
(20) to (17)

That 2009 is irrelevant since I'm referring to that 1988 to 1990 Niners team

Former 49er Steve Young is or was an NFL analyst for ESPN. Former 49er Offensive Lineman Randy Cross was an analyst during NFL broadcasts for one of the networks for a number of years. I don't know if he still is. (EDIT: According to wiki, Cross is now the color commentator for New England Patriot games)

And former 49er coach Steve Mariucci is a studio analyst for NFL network.

Oh, and former 49er Deion Sanders has also been a studio analyst for a number of years (he did play for other teams besides SF though).

I don't guess those guys were involved with the 89 team though...Cross retired after the 88 season, having won in the second 49ers-Bengals Super Bowl.

Why the concern for that particular 49er team?

I just remember that team being so dominant and it was just strange not to see a guy on ESPN from that team. I forgot about Steve Young since he is a idiot and was fired

That definitely was a great team.

I just looked at the wiki article about Young... a portion of it reads:

"...He has also maintained involvement with football. He can be seen alongside Stuart Scott and Matt Millen on the pre- and post-game shows for ESPN's Monday Night Football. He also co-hosts a radio show on KNBR at 5 pm on Wednesdays during football season along with The Razor and Mr.T, Ralph Barbieri and Tom Tolbert... "

I don't see anything mentioned about Young having worked in the Sunday pre-game NFL show on ESPN. I don't know how long he was there, and I didn't realize he'd been let go from it. Seems like he was in the studio within the last year or two, but sometimes things like that tend to run together for me over the course of several seasons.
