Everything is, I don't want to say cheaper, but I just did," the "Last Man Standing" star told critics this morning. "There's less revenue, there's less of everything so you've got to do better with less." He adds: ""Sometimes leaner is better. In this case it's not."

I'm glad they'll be back for a second season.

When Last Man Standing was first announced, my only thought was, "Great. Another multi-camera family sitcom on ABC starring Tim Allen. He's proven he can do better." The only surprise was that the show is owned by Fox, not Disney.

For some reason (I can't pinpoint why), I would've liked to have seen what Mr. Allen could do with a single-camera show on, say, CBS or NBC. I guess that's improbable given his 20-year relationship with The Walt Disney Company, which predates their purchase of ABC by a few years.

Then again, why mess with a proven formula?

I guess LMS is Tim Allen's "The Lucy Show" while HI was his "I Love Lucy"?

CBS has had no luck with single cam sitcoms and if he was on NBC, his sitcom would be ranked a lot lower than his current sitcom is. LMS is not as good as HI but it is a pleasent enough comedy to spend a half hour with.

That's how I feel about it. It's nice just having Tim Allen back on TV again.

Me too. And I think "Last Man Standing" is what ABC needs to get out of the slumps. After all, Tim Allen is an ABC vet and Nancy Travis is a famed movie actress. Besides, up until LMS aired, ABC didn't have wholesome family comedy in years. It will be awesome!
