I have been watching TBS for years (since the 80's) and have noticed some programs have aired in reruns for I don't know how long. For instance, Little House on the Prairie ran from 1984-2003 which is pretty impressive. I could name more shows but want to give you guys a chance. Anybody know of any? Maybe there are some I'm not aware of. Let's hear from you.

Off the top of my head, I can think of two. Saved by the Bell and The Andy Griffith Show. Dont know how long each has been on but I think its been on for a long time.

Andy was around for God know how long. I know Saved by the bell started in early 1993. I remember the promo for it. I was like "Gosh! It aleady comes on FOX 28 and WGN 9! Now TBS?" LOL.

I thought Saved by the Bell came in 1992? Please let me know. Either way it aired between 18-19 years on TBS - provided SBTB doesn't have a late, last-minute renewal in store.

Impressive that Little House aired for 19 years on TBS, didn't realize it was that long. It's too bad TBS no longer airs any dramas mid-day like they used to with Dawson's Creek, New Adventures of Superman, Little House, Hunter, and so on. I thought the dramas and the daily movies in the afternoon gave the channel more variety. But then again, I guess that's what the main change was from when it was the Superstation vs. being "very funny" with only sitcoms and comedic movies.

Fresh Prince has been on TBS for a while, though. I think it started in 2002. Friends has been on since 2002 and Seinfeld since 2003. To me, it seems like those are still "new" to TBS but it's been almost 10 years, kinda crazy!

Saved by the bell from what I remember came during early 1993 for sure. It came to WGN September 1991. They'd air one ep at 2:30 C/T and then one at 5:30p C/T One Tuesdays and Thursdays, Miss Bliss eps would air while one M,W and F's the Bayside eps aired for the first year on the network. My local affiliate WFTS 28 moved SBTB from 5am E/T (1991)to 5pm E/T in the afternoon in 1992. Then I remember the promos for the show early 1993 with Jessie saying "Does anyone feel the same way I feel?" in the promo. TBS may have aquired the rights in 1992 but I remember several weeks after the new year began, TBS began to promote the show.

Now Fresh Prince along with The Cosby Show and A Different World, began the early fall of 1999. ADW left in late 2002. TCS left last year I think or the year before. FP left after a few years but then TBS aquired the rights again in 2009 or maybe a year earlier, It think. WGN had also aquired the rights to Cosby and FP in 1999.

Good Times aired on TBS for quite a few years - how many exactly I have no idea.

Good Times started in 1989 and then ended...well, I forgot. However, it came back in 2000 and ran until 2003 in the 5:05am E/T slot.

They aired Full House for a long time as well, I think about 6 years (98-03). And didn't the also air Roseann for a long time?

Yep. Roseanne started in 1998 and was given the 7:05pm timeslot. I think it ran to 2005. I could be wrong about that date, though.

I'm thinking Roseanne aired until 2003 when it moved to Nick at Nite/Oxygen.

Didn't TBS also air In the Heat of the Night for quite a few years? Since it was set in the South, and this station is owned by Atlanta-based Ted Turner, it seems like a no-brainer that they'd air it.

They aired The Flintstones for quite awhile, even after the launch of Cartoon Network.

Speaking of Andy Griffith, Matlock also had a nice long run on TBS.

Family Matters was on from 1997 or 1998 until 2003, possibly 2004. I'd say 6 years but a little fuzzy on it.

They aired Gilligan's Island for a while too, didn't they?

Come to think of it, Mama's Family probably had a pretty long run too on TBS - up until 2006, although I don't know when they started to air it (my guess would be 2000 or 2001 maybe?)

Full House may have aired longer, someone told me today they got it in 95, not 98...

I will always fondly remember the early 1980's and Superstation WTBS, they were the first to try time shifting and ran their shows 5 minutes pass the hour. Ted Turner came up with the idea thinking it was a good way to hold onto an audience or find a new audience who was already bored with the first 5 minutes of something else they were watching.

As for the posters question, No one has mentioned "Bewitched" which had a very lengthy run weekday mornings at 8:05 & 8:35 for at least 5 years.

I remember their late night talk show at 1:00AM eastern....anyone remember Bill Tush?, also Mike Douglas made a return for awhile as host

Family Matters reruns aired on TBS from 1995-2003.

TBS did indeed run Gilligan's Island, but I'm not sure for how long.

I'd totally forgotten about Mama. You're right - the Harpers were on TBS forever (1997-2006).

Other shows that have had a long life on TBS: Three's Company (1992-99), Who's The Boss? (1995–2003), Roseanne (1996–2004), The Cosby Show (1999–2009), Friends (2001–present), Seinfeld (2002–present), and Home Improvement (2002–present).

Using wikipedia I found out how long some shows lasted on tbs that catlover79 didn't already mention.

Family Guy (2003- Present) (8 years)
Fresh Prince (1996- 2003, 2007- Present) (11 years)

Sex and the City has been on TBS since 2004.

TBS stopped airing SATC last year when E! obtained the rights.

Actually, Fresh Prince didn't start untill 1999 along with The Cosby Show and A Different World.

BTW, Monika, Roseanne did not start untill 1998 on TBS. I did make an error too. Little House started in 1981 and not 1984 as I stated earlier.

All in the Family started in 1979 and went through to the early 90's. I'm not sure if there was a hiatus.

Sanford and Son started in 1979 and was still on TBS in 1993 airing @ 7:35pm. I don't know when the contract expired, though.

According to wikipedia 1995 to 2003.

Full House aired from October 5, 1998 until October 6, 2002. That is according to the TBS log.

Also, Saved by the Bell started November 2, 1992.

I think Seinfeld has been on TBS for a long time as well... Maybe even right after it went off of Network TV back in 1998.
