The next morning I went to the church seminar feeling out of place with all those oh-so-perfect Christians. The seminar started off well, the speaker was funny, insightful, and practical.
If I got nothing else out of this at least I had a few snausages for my brain to chew on. When he closed the event with a prayer, I felt that familiar drift of the Holy Spirit wafting through me. I felt a
calm, a peace, and I was ready to go wherever the day would take me.
I went out into the foyer where people gathered to buy tapes and books. I stood by one table browsing through the materials
when a short blonde girl in a striking outfit stepped up and scribbled out a name on mailing list. I looked down--
and froze--
her--!!
It was HER! As she stepped out, I followed. I ran up to her and asked, "Excuse me, would your name happen to be Lisa?"
"Yes."
A THOUSAND GOLDFINCHES HATCHED, A MILLION STAR CLUSTERS WERE BORN, ACRES UPON ACRES OF HONEYSUCKLE AND HEATHER
BLANKETED WHERE ONCE THERE WERE WASTELANDS IN A SINGLE MOMENT AS HER REPLY SEEPED THROUGH MY HEART--LISA! I HAD FINALLY FOUND HER!
I told her how her music and message had changed my life, and how I had missed her concert in EasternWashington. I was so glad to meet her, and she put her arm around my waist and I put my arm around her shoulder. She said, "You've been a real blessing to me today. Maybe I'll see you around..."Then she saud she had to run off and do some things, and I felt SO RELIEVED THAT I HAD FINALLY MET HER!!
