Just saw this episode today were this woman is looking for her grandmother. The last time she saw her is when she was little girl and grandma left on a train wearing a pink dress. The Grandmother had a bad marriage and its thought that her Grandfather killed the Grandmother and she burried by the train tracks. I don't see for the life of me why they do not exume the remains and get some DNA and tested to the granddaughters and see if it is her Grandma? If they can get DNA off of King Tut surely the can off these remains.

This was the case of Conradina Olson. I think the reason that they don't exhume the remains is out of respect for the young woman who was found, as there are no others who claim to be her relative (at least as far as what we were told during the UM segment). I think also there were time discrepancies as well. I personally do not think that the young woman found along the train tracks that day was Conradina Olson. I think that she started a new life elsewhere on a whim.

If that is not her. Then I wonder how this case would be solved.

I don't think the truth about the dead woman will ever be determined. I think too much time has passed and the spirit of the story has faded dramatically over the years. Although you never know. As for Conradina Olson, I just don't know. Unless they find a body elsewhere or if a family member comes forward with information, then it's unlikely that we will know the truth.

The body by the tracks couldn't be Conradina Olson. That murder happened in 1877, while Olson disappeared in 1910.
